MikeP: We needn't really have answered anyway as the even more concise reply is at the top of this page.

Briantist: I have to agree with Corin on this relatively trivial point but in the non-stylised text, ITV's web page shows no space. My PVR and TV list it with no space as well. On Broadcast's web page, the space does not look 'right' somehow.

Briantist: I knew I should have left well alone!

Syd Wall: I see from your earlier posts that you decided to stick with Lark Stoke rather than Sutton Coldfield both of which the DigitalUK postcode check give good results for you. If you now reverted to SC, you would be able to get MotorsTV from COM7 at Location 71 on an HD Freeview receiver with DVB-T2 reception which you have. In my case I have a Humax HD PVR and Toshiba smart TV both of which get Motors TV from COM7 from Emley Moor OK but the web-based MotorsTV is incompatible with the Humax PVR and gives very poor and pixellated pictures on the Toshiba TV which is not actually listed as compatible with the service. My internet connection is 14Mbps so is not hanging around and probably adequate as HD BBC Iplayer is fine on both devices.

W sass: Postcode check shows Emley Moor possible at your location. Forcing a re-scan but stopping it before any channels are found should clear the Emley channels out. Manual scan of the induvidual channels of Winter Hill above should get you all the channels you may have lost in the earlier auto-tune. An auto scan may actually sort out your problem but only if you are given the country and region options after the scan so that the yorkshire channels can be ignored by your set or relegated to the 800's.

M Bevan: If you are getting MotorsTV on Freeview at location 71 then you ARE receiving COM7 so there's no reason why BBC News HD(locn.107), BBC4 HD(locn.106) and others should not be there. You must be using Pontop Pike and if they are not there, do a manual tune on channel 31 and ensure DVB-T2 standard is selected for the scan.

M Bevan: Sorry. Channel I suggested is wrong. COM7 from Pontop Pike is 33 not 31.

Valerie: I think most contributors to this page would suggest an upgrade to a new TV is in order but that is the ultimate upgrade. If your 10 year old Panasonic(model number would be useful) has an HDMI input, is HD Ready and you can still access that external input using the 10 year old remote then a separate Freeview HD set-top box or PVR could be a cheaper option. These will have the DVB-T2 standard for HD reception that your 2004 TV will not. The cheapest option would be a new remote but there have been several tweaks in the Freeview services that may not work unless your set's firmware can be upgraded and you will need a working 'MENU' key to check. Basic non-HD viewing has not been affected by these tweaks. Full postcode would be useful as well.
