Over the last few years I have watched as, one by one, channels are removed from the FREEVIEW platform. For 'financial' reasons BBC cut back its spare channels (300, 301, 301) from three to one, as well as its multi-page news channel; ITV News was removed; Men&Motors channel replaced FTM (or FTC?) and then went as well. SKY took out freebie SKY SPORTS NEWS, plus messed about with SKY Text - now you can't listen to SKY News while looking at SKY Text at the same time! Watch out - next to go will be freebies SKY 3 and SKY News channels, mark my words!! In the end, FREEVIEW won't be worth having, and Murdoch and co will get their pound of flesh - the filthy greedy rich get richer, and don't give a toss about viewers watching for free! Just keep your shareholders sweet and charge for everything!

Really to replace Dave Ja Vu on Freeview
Thursday 25 August 2011 1:02PM

FREEVIEW is becoming a bit of a joke, IMO. Too many channels being lost - Virgin, SKY Sports News, BBC Spare Channels / Multi- Screen News, Men And Motors, Al Jazeera News, CNN News and more recently Dave Ja Vu. And it seems many channels have become nothing more than glorified shops selling jewellery, or late-night soft porn. Surely by now, we should be adding more and better quality TV channels, not taking them away? (Giving us FOOD, Science, or maybe even some GOLD and Top-Up TV stuff would be nice!)

Is it really worth me sticking with FREEVIEW or would FREESAT be any better? God knows I don't want to give Murdoch & Co a penny, so SKY TV is definitely out! Cheers, Mick.

Really to replace Dave Ja Vu on Freeview
Friday 26 August 2011 12:36PM

I actually rather liked Virgin (Star Trek!) whereas Challenge is reheated old games and competition rubbish; PICKTV+!? What's that? (I don't think it's on FREEVIEW is it!); Can I get BBC HD on my FREEVIEW set? I like Men & Motors, not ITV4; Al Jazeera is now limited space, CNN has gone completely, and Dave Ja Vu was useful if I missed something, whereas Really...need I go on?

Like I say, it seems many channels have become nothing more than glorified shops selling jewellery, or late-night soft porn. Surely by now, we should be adding more and better quality TV channels, not taking them away? Is it worth trying FREESAT or is that jus as bad? Cheers, Mick.

All free TV channels in the UK

I like PickTV but get annoyed when it keeps messing about with the schedule. Why, for instance, does it put 'Star Trek Enterprise' (which I like!) on for a few weeks Monday-to-Friday, then replace it with the (IMO) rubbish 'Warehouse 13'? We're trying to follow a plot-line here and then the programme gets taken off or moved to a completely different slot such as Saturday evening. Also, a similar thing with 'Most Haunted', where we start with the older 2003 stuff then go all the way up to 2008 when the programme really starts to improve, and then...? We're back to yet further repeats of the 2003 season time and time again. Please, can PickTV show more modern series of 'Most Haunted' and stop re-arranging schedules of 'Star Trek Enterprise'? Thanks. Mick White, Leicester, UK.
