Dave : Are you in an area where the frequency was recently changed for the mux BBCA? Information with regard to the transmitter you are using, or where you are located, preferably via a postcode for yourself or nearby shop would enable further advice to be given.

Ann Khaneka: DUK do not make a prediction for reception of the COM muxes from Wenvoe at your location. This is likely to be because interference is anticipated from another transmitter that shares the same frequencies. If you are able to receive ITV3 and Sky News without problems it is because the level of interference is less than anticipated on those frequencies. However as C39 is affected, (and presumably C49 was not), the propogation of the interfering signal on C39 is better than on the other frequencies. Sometimes repositioning an aerial can find a null for an unwanted signal, however it may be that at least for the present ArqB is no longer available from Wenvoe.

Mr s. Kehr: I've just checked BBC Radio Derby on 95.3MHz and it is loud and clear South of Derby city centre!

Ray123: Either cable will do as they are identical. You only need to run a new (third) cable from the dish LNB to your tv if you wish to continue using the Sky+ box, as the Sky box requires two feeds (and a current Sky subscription) to maintain full functionality.

David H: Before you consider buying a Freeview box, is it possible to borrow one and then observe how the signal strength compares between the muxes? - that is assuming you are able to tune them all in! If C50 is found to be low on strength or poor quality it might be an aerial problem, but in the first instance do routine checks on cables and connectors, then check for interference from a VCR or Sky box RF modulator which could be set to a previously unused frequency arround C48 to C51. Also check for interference from HDMI cables if you have any, which could be picked up by the aerial fly lead. Also if your signal is amplified it could actually now be too strong.

colin needs: Changes to the Mendip transmitter with regard to the frequencies of the existing muxes are complete for the near future. It is possible that two additional temporary muxes could come on air , possibly later this year. This would not affect the existing services. The next possible change might be about 2018 when more frequencies could be under threat of being given over to 4G/5G! This would entail frequency changes for some or all services at Mendip.

Dave: If your receiver permits manual tuning try to enter C50 for the BBC channels and C49 for ArqA (Sky News etc) Note the signal strength and quality for each frequency before pressing "store" if any channels are found. If you are using a communal aerial it might be necessary for the landlord or building management company responsible for the aerial to arrange for an engineer to make adjustments to the filters to allow the adopted frequencies to be received.
