Mark: What is the signal quality indicated on C42 and how does this compare with the other muxes? It is possible that you are receiving a low level signal from Hannington on C42 which is interfering with your normal reception.

MikeP: I think most cases of "wrong region" being transmitted refer to occasions when the back-up service via satellite is in use. There is only one back-up service which serves all regions.

Roz: West Midlands at your location refers to the Sutton Coldfield transmitter. Mux BBCA is on C43, so inability to tune to that frequency suggests interference on C43, or maybe trees are obstructing the signal path, causing the signal level to dip. Check too that the BBC channels (or BBC1) have not been placed in the 800s, with an anusable version from an out of area transmitter stored in the normal positions of the channel list. Try to do a manual tune on C43 if your equipment has this facility.

kate young: Try deleting channel 15, then re-tune. Otherwise do a factory reset to delete all channels, then re-tune. Film 4 has been added to mux PSB2, so it is now available from all Freeview transmitters. For an interim period the version on ArqB, which currently shows the annoying message, will be withdrawn.

That should say "After an interim period, the version on ArqB, which currently shows the annoying message, will be withdrawn".

david Mills: It is Film4 changing to the PSB2 multiplex that has enabled you to receive it again. Film4 is now available from all sites that transmit Freeview signals (as long as you are able to receive ITV, C4 etc). The other services that you lost continue to be transmitted on ArqB.

Dean Ensor: Given the amount of money that BT and Sky have paid for the rights to screen various football matches there is no way that either company would offer their services free on a regular basis. The highlights will be shown free, as part of a separate agreement with BBC, ITV etc. BT and Sky, in common with other broadcasters are entitled to bid for space on the COM muxes when it is available, for either Freeview or Pay-TV use.

CHRIS: Most usual cause for loss of all services is failure of the public electricity supply. This is rectified as soon as the engineers are able to carry out repair work.

E Poole: You are correct. BT vision boxes require a UHF TV aerial to recieve services via DTT transmitters. Suitable signals are predicted to be available from Belmont or Waltham at the postcode given.

E Poole: If the TV has in-built Freesat it should simply be a matter of using the TV remote to select the input on the TV that the BT vision box is connected to when wishing to view the output of the BT vision box. As you say, if the TV's Freesat input is connected to a dish and the BT vision box is connected to an aerial, the box's output being connected to an A/V socket on the TV, it will be possible to select either set of services. I'm not sure what the converter is supposed to do, but it sounds like the BT adviser was a little confused.
