Below are all of KMJ, Derby's postings, with the most recent are at the bottom of the page.Dora: Check that the problem channels on the DVD recorder are being received on C62. If you supply your postcode a check can be made on the trade predictor for reception at your location.

Dora: It is possible that the signal is now too strong and is overloading the tuner in the DVD recorder on C62.If possible try connecting the aerial direct to the DVD without a booster in line, otherwise insert an attenuator in the aerial feed before the DVD recorder.

David: Is the BBC East Midlands service you are receiving on C61 from Waltham or on C48 from the Derby relay? If it is the latter, there is no HD service from the Derby relay until October as the frequency it has been allocated is still in use for the low power Freeview service from Sutton Coldfield.

Susan: All UK Freeview boxes scan UHF channels 21 to 68, that is the freqency range covered by the box. It sounds like you are only receiving MuxA which stayed at low power and 2k mode. The most likely explanation is either the box does not support the 8k mode, or the high power signals are too strong, in which case you need to insert an attenuator in the aerial feed to the box. The aerial to your block should at least deliver MuxBBCA and MuxD3+4 as these are using frequencies originally used by analogue ITV1 and C4.

Chris O: Those frequencies are for Waltham. If you are a resident in the block I am thinking of the latest aerial installation does point to Waltham - the tall pole on Abbey Street! There are older aerials pointing to Sutton Coldfield and Kimberley at the top end of the block too, are these still connected up to your apartment? The frequency you are looking for to receive Sky Sports, now on Mux ArqB, is C57 (762MHz). The Digital UK postcode checker shows this frequency to have poor reception at your location, possibly because it is also used at Bolehill and you are high enough to receive a signal from that transmitter too.

Dora: Pleased you found a solution to the problem. You might find that the position of the HDMI cable relative to the equipment or other cables affects reception.

Dave: In Germany the COM muxes are only available in urban areas. Another interesting point about Germany is that starting in 2013 all households will have to pay for a TV licence whether they have a TV or not.

J.ahmad: Is this an analogue TV which used to receive only four or five channels? If so it stopped working on 31st August because the analogue transmitters were switched off permanently. To watch TV now you will need to use a Freeview box connected to your TV. If the TV has a scart socket at the back you can use most types of Freeview box. However if you can only find an aerial socket at the back of the TV you will have to buy a Freeview box with an inbuilt RF modulator. This type of Freeview box is connected to the aerial socket on the TV in order to view the digital channels that it picks up.

louiza: Indoor aerials are always a bit hit and miss, but it is worth a try. You will have to buy a digibox anyway to view anything on an analogue telly after the analogue transmitters are switched off. You are predicted to be able to have good reception from the Wharfedale transmitter after 7th September 2011 on Mux BBCA (the BBC channels), and from 21st September 2011 on Mux D3+4 (ITV1&2, C4, C5 etc) If you have a window facing East at which you can point the aerial, it should help with reception.
