Below are all of KMJ, Derby's postings, with the most recent are at the bottom of the page.Dave: In Germany the COM muxes are normally only available in urban areas. Belgium only transmits PSB channels on DTT. The commercial services are all on cable.

timonthenet: It could be the analogue ITV1 signal from Bilsdale getting a helping hand from the weather conditions.

Darren abel: When did the problem begin with the Mux2 signal? If you had entered your postcode a check could be made on the reception predicted at your location. It is possible that changes at Bluebell Hill or Rowridge are now affecting reception from Hastings in some areas.

Jay: No, you are predicted to get good reception from Crystal Palace after switchover, with possible reduced reliability on two of the COM muxes. If you have good analogue reception now you can normally expect to get Freeview after switchover.

Sally; The main drawback will be felt towards the edge of the Rowridge service area where interference between the Rowridge signal and the signal from a local PSB-only relay occurs, blocking reception from both. In such cases it will probably be unnecessary to use the relay as signals from a main station will usually be available, but it will be frustrating for viewers wanting to receive the COM muxes who are prevented from doing so by the relay that they don't need!

Pete: Could you supply your postcode, so that a check can be made of predicted reception at your location?

Sally: Findon uses a different (higher) frequency than the corresponding muxes use on Rowridge, so if there is a signal from both transmitters there would not be a frequency clash. The problem which could occur would be where a viewer receives a strong Findon signal, for which they wish to store the channels, but a weak Rowridge signal is found first in the scan and these channels stored instead. You mention aerials, if the one you already have works well then no need to worry, however if you did want one which favoured Rowridge and picked up less of the unwanted frequencies (including 4G signals, if they ever became a problem) then the use of a group "A" aerial would concentrate the gain on Rowridge frequencies.

Joseph R. Krecioch: The most likely transmitter for your TV signals is Emley Moor. You should not need a signal booster when using a communal aerial as following switchover the levels should have been adjusted if necessary to give the correct signal level at each outlet to suit most receivers. Have you tried tuning without the booster in line, as you could have too much signal being delivered? Otherwise, check with other residents to see if they are also having problems. If there are other apartments with no signal contact the building management company to have the aerial/ distribution set-up checked out.

Keith Williams: Is it only ITV1 that comes up "no signal"? If it is, ie Channel 4, ITV2 etc still work, it is likely that your receiver has somehow tuned to an out of area version of ITV1, possibly during the tropospheric ducting last week and the signal has now faded out. Have a look in the 800's of the channel list for a version that works. Check the frequency that ITV1 on button 3 and then Channel 4 are tuned to, if they are different you will need to re-tune in order to restore the correct set of channels for the transmitter that your aerial is pointing to. If all channels in Mux D3+4 are missing, again check that they are tuned to the correct frequency, then if they are, check cables and connectors, also check for single frequency interference from other equipment, also if using boosters, check for possible signal overload.

Nathan, Southsea: 738.000MHz is C54 which makes it Mendip. There have been reports of Mendip reaching London when conditions are right.
