I had put more or less the same question to Freeview. They say there is frequent switching from 1080p to 1080i by broadcasters within a program.
Presumably I need to reduce/attenuate the signal strength if you are right. What to, though? How do I do it? Won't this cause "bit error" problems?

Has Film4+1 been taken off Heathfield transmitter? Suddenly disappeared from channel 45.

StevensOnln1. Thanks. The channel came back of its own accord by the Friday. Haven't checked which frequency it is on though.

Heathfield Transmitter:- my signal strength on C47 (682 MHz) has crashed over the past couple of days. Down to 30% or below, with huge bit error with consequential freezing/blocking. Quality still 100% though. Other channels and frequencies are fine.
Postcode RH16 3RX.

Chris.SE - thanks for this. All channels on C47 now unwatchable. Hope rectified soon.

Are we ever likely to get more HD broadcast terrestrial channels.? What's the point of having an HD TV (or a 4K TV) if there are no channels? BBC iPlayer does not really seem to be HD despite chosing that option.

I know Channel 4 had some problems recently, but has anyone noticed that the audio on 4HD is now at a lower level and you have to increase the volume a few notches, and reduce it again when you switch channels. Heathfield transmitter.

Me again. Heathfield transmitter. RH16 3RX.
As we progressed into winter my reception on on C46(674.0MHz) crashed. Virtually zero strength and zero quality and lots of bit error. Variable but useless. This has now improved slightly but very dodgy and unwatchable. However C47(682.0MHz) is now frequently crashing and I am having to switch to C41(634.0 MHz) to watch main terrestial channels.
Is it the weather?

My samsung TV momentarily "blinks" frequently when watching HD channels. I have discovered that this is when the Freeview transmission switches from 1080i to 1080p and vice versa (according to the TV's signal/channel information).
I am on the Heathfield transmitter and RH16 3RX postcode. I have 99% signal strength and 100% quality. Samsung H8000 series TV.
Why does the transmission signal switch between 1080p and 1080i?
