But what channels do you feel you are missing out on by being on Freeview lite?

RitchieRich: One with a Freeview HD (DVB-T2) tuner inside it. Not just Freeview, not Full HD, not HD Ready, but "Freeview HD".
Or you could of course by a Freeview HD box if your current TV is perfectly fine (so long as it has an HDMI connection).

speake: A rumour - from who, exactly? Unless you heard it from Ofcom, the broadcasters or the owners of the transmitters (Arquiva) it's probably BS.
If one, or even some of the 1,000+ relay transmitters were going to be upgraded, a tiny 4 Watt transmitter covering 1,200 homes is going to be well down on the list of priorities for the commercial broadcasters to add 3 additional multiplexes at considerable cost.

Briantist: It's a problem with my Vista media centre EPG as well, seems a lot of people are reporting the problem on the internet - I doubt buying Win8 will solve the issue.

Briantist: Win7 should be ok for a 7 day EPG as that uses broadcast data, unlike XP and Vista.
Found a thread on it, and it's also been reported to Microsoft: View topic - Guide Updates - Download Issues
Resorting to trying EPG Collector to see what happens (instructions at the end of that thread).

john abram: Are you referring to a separate RTE HD channel? There is none, though RTE2 broadcasts some programmes in HD. I know for sure it's available on Saorview, though I'm not sure if RTE2 via the NI mux broadcasts any HD programmes.
If you can get RTE1 and RTE2, etc. at the moment you should be able to get TG4.
Channel 5 HD is not available on Freeview HD. STV is only available if you can receive a signal from a Scottish transmitter.

guy: A quick google of your humax's model number tells me it's not a Freeview HD receiver so it obviously won't pick up anything on UHF channel 40 :)

Stewart: The radio channels are carried in the same muxes as TV and data channels (BBC radio in the BBCA mux, others in SDN, ArqA and ArqB muxes) so there's no special radio tuning required. Which radio or TV channels are you missing in the 700s?
