Below are all of PaulN's postings, with the most recent are at the bottom of the page.I am also seeing test cards and such on C56. Hopefully more HD content to come. I did notice that the error rate is in the E-6 region on C56 versus 0 that I see on C52. Received power level looks very similar though - could be just on the edge of my wideband aerial and 27dB worth of gain on a masthead. But it is early days.

Anyone else experiencing reception issues from Divis this morning ? I have much reduced power on all channels on all receivers while one STB reports no signal on them all. I just checked that my aerials haven't fallen off the roof !

Turns out I am special again... My labgear loft amplifier died overnight. Changed its mains fuse but it is not powering up. One for the bench or bin later.
Bypassed it with a splitter for a couple of TVs and all is good again. Interestingly the only channel that needs any amplification off the back of my log periodic aerial for division is the nimm on C39 but quality is perfect despite the low strength.
I had noticed some artefacts on BBC HD channels last night - that must have been dying gasp of the labgear unit but I never gave it a second thought.

Bench tests show the input side of the transformer has burnt out for reasons unknown but it will be easy to graft on an alternative 12V power source to get my labgear unit operational again. Darned if I am paying 60-80 quid for a new one !

Back in business with repaired loft amp. It must have been slowly dying for a while cos I am now seeing perfect picture on C56 SaorView mux 2 while at launch it was abysmal.

That's interesting cos is there is a wee layer of tape on there. Everyday a school day ! Cheers

I found it much easier and cheaper to replace the entire power supply with an external AC/DC converter. The labgear unit has a nice convenient flying lead where I was able to splice on a connector for the external converter. Cost me like 4 quid plus some scraps of wire and connectors I had about the place. Oh and I replaced the labgear power led with a 12V version for convenience. The new converter has a 1A rating while the old transformer was stickered for 400mA at 12V so I have plenty of headroom.
I may yet investigate the old transformer for the thermal fuse but I have a good result with a cheap, safe repair.

My Tv asked for a channel update a few days ago and I noticed that BBC4-HD disappeared from the list immediately after. Then I noticed MotorsTV was missing. I did a manual signal scan and discovered that CH33 (570MHz) is pretty much dead on this TV.
Oddly - the PVR box hooked up to the same connection (from same loft box output) is happily receiving those channels from its previous tuning config.
So either my TV has developed a blackspot for CH33 or the channel info is not being signalled correctly in whatever overheads the TV is using to find a signal - anybody else with some funnies on CH33 ?

No it was just me - swapped ports on the loft box - no difference.
Swapped out factory made link cable from PVR to TV and hey presto all good - never seen a cable fail with such unique effect on one channel.

So this is weird. Today I am getting 100% quality from Claremont carn. Nothing has been changed. So it must have been weather related when it went bad last time - unless something else was interfering on C52. Weird, but hopefully it stays good for the Pro12 final in HD on RTE2 !
