IrvSwerve: Click on the DigitalUK link next to your question - you should have no problem at all with Crystal Palace. Are you sure you are tuned to thats transmitter, or are you using the Woolwich Light transmitter, which does not have BBC4 HD?

Alan: It would really help if you could post a postcode, since it will show which transmitters you might be using.

Rather than 'no signal', are you just not picking up Sky News? If your not, it could be that your tuned into a local 'light' transmitter, which doesn't carry it, rather than Rowridge.

4G problems are actually really rare, so it highly unlikely, but it could be a problem with your aerial lead - so check your system for any breaks, etc, to make sure your signal is consistant across the full range.

Kayde: It sounds like your aerial has a problem, if its only happening to one or two TV's (if its all of them, then someone else will have to come up with an answer). BBC channels are the strongest, so if there is a problem with your aerial, such as a break, corrosion, etc, then the others are possibly more likely to go first.

'No signal' means just that - the TV cant find a signal, which points to the aerial being the problem. Which TV's have the problem?

DavidM: I'd start by checking your system. Although you say the day/time is random, its likely you have a problem somewhere in your setup, perhaps a break, etc, where moisture is causing problems. Check the cable from the loftbox, and perhaps change the aerial lead from the socket - it might be as simple as that.

Why is there suddenly a rash of people convinced 4G is a problem? Nothong for months, and then loads come along at once!

Peter: I'm not sure what green analogue box is, but ring your local council, they will often pickup bulk items, if only on an annual basis.

BTW - what do you mean by ' it is probably still connected to electricity'?

oliver marland: Logically, if there is nothing wrong with the transmitter, it has to be you. Sounds like you've an aerial system fault which has got to the point that its totally gone. Likely a break somewhere, which has become final.

Colin1951uk: Following on from JB38's point about how your signal comes into the TV, can I assume you have a digibox feeding into the CRT? If so, how is it fed? I'm guessing that its via scart, but are you also using something else, like a scart switchbox?

I know that I get interference from power cables with my scart from the switchbox (which is a bit dicey to change), so it could be the setup in the back of the TV, including a loose connection, etc. Just check that everything is tight, shielded, and away from power cables, etc - it might help.
Of course your TV is now at least 8 years old, so it might be the TV itself - you could check by using the same input lead you use for the digibox to feed something else, say a dvd player. Since you's tried another digibox, its more likely to be the cable or the TV, so at least try another cable. If its still doing it, then at least you've ticked a couple of things off the list.

stuart: I've just checked your terrain plot and position - your only 18km away from the transmitter, with nothing in the way. If your signal is suddenly too low, its unlikely your signal was marginal to begin with.
Check your system, it sounds like something has broken.

BTW - is it me, or is there suddenly a rash of such problems?

Dave Lindsay: Your absolutely right, but it is strange that there should be no signal at all. Frankly, the whole of the Talcneston area is a bit odd in reception terms, so perhaps not so strange after all!

Stuart Shaw: The best question to ask is, why do you need them?
If you got sent one in the post last year (or at least a card saying you might have an issue), then there was a chance that you needed them, but if you look on this forum, you'll find that remarkably few people actually required them. In reality, almost every problem which people described as due to 4G has been due to something else, and where there were problems, one was normally fine (as close to the aerial as possible.

If you describe your problem, and include your postcode when you post, you can see for yourself if there are any 4G stations near you, etc. The at800 website is also useful.

However, rather than spend money on filters you dont probably need, perhaps work out what the possible problem is first.
