It sounds like you may have a problem with your system - or possibly just the box or a cable. Check your signal levels on both devices, and perhaps wap out an aerial cable - its a cheap fix if ones got a probalem.

denis: Check your system - your very close to Crystal Palace, so its not lack of signal, probably a break in a cable or something.

alexei romanov: look at the digitaluk link. Your 40km from Black Hill with good reception - so check your tuned to Black Heath. If you are, then look at signal strength. If its that low, check your system - sounds like something is wrong there.

Brian Thornton: Put your postcode into this site - it will bring up a load of links, including DigitalUK, etc. Tv reception, 4G problems etc are all very reliant on location. You can then see if you do actually have a 4G problem, but I suspect 'bad reception' probably due to other factors.
And no, your broadband has nothing at all to do with your TV reception.

Sue: Ken C pointed out that water in the cable is often the problem, not the fact that the cable may or may not run along a roof. So your signla might seem perfectly fine, until it rains, in which case it goes, until the next time it rains...
Is your ITV signal strength really a 100%? Thats far too high - quality 100% fine, but strength far too high. Give us the signal strengths for BBC and ITV.
We also need a postcode - without knowing where you are in relation to the transmitter, we are just guessing.

Kirsty: Check your signal strength - its too high, or too low, thats the sort of things that happens. If its too high 90% plus, then there are easy ways to fix that. If its too low, your liable to have a problem with your aerial system.

michael: Check that your TV isn't auto resetting to 16:9 - when I watch it, its normally in 4:3.

Dave: A lot of people come off Sky and go to Freesat, but also get Now TV, which you can buy pretty cheaply as a streamer box, or via an app on LG TV's. 14.99 or thereabouts, plus a 'pass' for Now TV. Since they do a Sports pass, it might work out cheaper for occasional viewing.
