Below are all of Simon Cole's postings, with the most recent are at the bottom of the page.I cannot remember when I last watched a BBC 4 HD programme but it cannot be more than a couple of weeks ago.
I have checked with a friend TV nearby and they cannot get BBC 4 HD either. I have also read from other forums on this site that lots pf people in the south can no longer get BBC4 HD starting from a few days ago, looks like when the frequency Changed.
I have tried manual tuning with no effect. Signal strength 0.
I can understand, technically, why I can no longer get this channel but I do not understand the commercial/political/practical reason for moving this main stream channel to somewhere nobody can receive it. We should be moving channels to HD, not away from it.

MikeB: I didn't say its not there but it does seem to have been put where no-one can see it.
It is like buying a copy of the guardian only to find that all the pages are blank.
I did get a message on my receivers last night to re-tune today so I will see what that does.

Curiouser and Curiouser.
I have now re-tuned two receivers,an HD TV and a PVR, and both devices has lost all but the main 5 HD channels, 101 to 105.
Whilst the PVR does include them in the Guide and gives an accurate listing for these channels the TV does not list them at all in the guide.
Whilst I can live without QVC HD I cannot live without BBC 4 HD!
What is going on?

Keith Lindop: As I said in my first post I live on Hayling Island from which I can see the Rowridge transmitter.
I had a look at a friend's house a quarter of a mile away and they now do have BBC 4 HD, they did not yesterday, but several of the other HD channels have now disappeared.

Further investigations show I have lost all channels on com7 and com8. Looking through other forums there are many other people who have the same problem in the Rowridge area. I am also getting the feeling that other transmitters around the country are showing similar behaviour.
Technical issues aside, what is the reasoning for removing 24 Freeview channels from the Rowridge subscribers and when/if will these services be returned. If you do not know do you know who I should be communicating with?
A month of two ago I spend 250 on a new Freeview box. Were I to have known that this was going to happen I would have bought a Freesat box.
Many thanks for whatever help you can give me.

Greg Stewart: I live on Hayling Island and, in the last week or so, I have lost all channels on com7 and com8, about 24 channels All com7 channels since last night. I have returned many times on two different receivers and get the same on all channels: 0% signal strength.
I started a similar conversation on the BBC4 HD forum and nobody there seems to know what is going on either.

R Murchie: Ofcom sure make it difficult to communicate with them. Their current methods are:
Wait in a queue on the phone
Wright to them via the post
Visit them in London
Do you have an e-mail address for them I can use?
Thanks,

I live on Hayling Island and receive my Freeview signal from the Rowridge transmitter.
A few years ago I was able to receive BBC 4 in High Definition. Then comeone moved the BBC 4 HD signal to a different channel and I lost the signal.
Are there any plans to reinstate BBC4 HD to my area?
Also, when will local programmes, like South Today, be broadcast in HD?
Many thanks,
Simon

I live on Hayling Island and all of a sudden BBC 4 HD has disappeared. It used to appear on channel 106 from the Rowridge transmitter. It looks like there was a re-organisation of some of the channels in the last week and BBC 4 HD is now on Com 8 broadcasting at only 18KW. I have also seen some chat suggesting a change of Arial is needed to get these channels.
Will I ever be able to watch the BBC's most upmarket channel in HD again?
Many thanks,
