With only a month to go to the power increase, there's not a lot of point looking at more complicated checks, but JimF's suggestion about the cable is well worth considering - replacing a low quality cable from the wall to the TV with a good quality one can make all the difference in your situation.
If you haven't got a good spare cable, I would advise against buying the typical DIY store rubbish. Instead, have a chat with a friendly aerial installer and ask them to make you up a lead with some decent quality double screened cable. Alternatively, satcure stock them - Coaxial WF100 digitalSatellite cable Sky and Freeview extension leads double screened

@John - The answer to your question is that power on Sudbury is increasing again on 27th June. At the same time as the power increase, ArqB (the multiplex with those channels) will move from its temporary frequency of C63 to the final frequency of C56, which also is a lot easier to receive.

@John - the weak muxes moved channels on 27th June. The reason you can't receive them now is because they aren't there any more.
A retune should have you sorted.

I'm sympathetic to why this is being done, but I must admit I'm getting a bit teed off with the number of retunes recently.
Here in Suffolk, that's going to be the 4th retune in just over a year. Fortunately for me, I've found out how to back up the recording schedule on the home PVR otherwise it takes hours to put it back afterwards. Another reason it's a pain is because I live half way between Tacolneston and Sudbury and the automatic tuning always seems to prefer the weaker Tacolneston signals for some strange reason. When you bear in mind that we have a 2 Humax boxes, a BT Vision box and 1 (soon to be 2) freeview TV as well as a MythTV setup, that's a fair amount of retuning.
Can anyone tell me if there are going to be any more retunes after this or can I relax and get on with actually watching TV?

Oh joy, I thought we were done with the retuning, but it looks like there's another retune on the way - Freeview channel numbers change on September 19th 2012 | ukfree.tv - 10 years of independent, free digital TV advice
Is this going to be the last one for a while or is there going to be a whole new tranche of retuning required (what about 4G for instance?)
At least I learned how to back up the other half's recording schedule on our Humax PVR some time ago as a retune deletes the list and it takes HOURS to put them all back manually. However, there must be a lot of other people who will be getting quite angry now.

Hi Tessa,
The Olympics closing ceremony, and much of the Olympics, was broadcast on BBC HD (not BBC1 HD). I even have the recordings to prove it!

@Jill - its surprisingly straightforward, there haven't been enough leaves on the trees since November to affect the signal. However, in the last couple of weeks, the sap has risen and the leaves have sprouted. Up until now, your signal has been borderline, but the effect of the water in the trees and the leaves has been to push the signal down just that little further and your signal is now at too low a level to receive the weakest signals, i.e. ITV4 etc.
The good news is that the signal will be massively boosted on 27th June as a result of the last stage of the digital switchover for Sudbury, and you should then have the same quality of signal as you do for BBC1.
