If you provide a full postcode we can check your predicted reception and see if there's suggestions to improve your reception.
Is your aerial external on a pole? or in a loft? How old is it? If external have you had a look to make sure it seems intact and is still pointing correctly?
Check all your accessible coax connections to make sure the are connected properly and there's no corrosion or water.
Do you have any aerial amps/splitters to feed more than one TV/Device?
I hope you hadn't tried retuning in the first instance if/when the set said no signal or the pictures were badly pixellated. You can't tune to signals that aren't there or can't be decoded, if you do that it can clear your correct tuning.

Alan Rogers:
The transmitter isn't currently listed for Planned Engineering and there are no faults currently reported.
Have you checked that your aerial looks intact and is still pointing correctly?
If you provide a full postcode we may be able to offer further advice about your predicted reception.

Apart from Mynydd Machen, which is now line-fed rather than a relay of Wenvoe, two other transmitters which are relays via Mynydd Machen, are off-air, Wattsville and Pennar.
I suspect with the atrocious winds there have been there'll be a power cut somewhere that's causing this.
The BBC are still reporting them as off-air, but the reports may not yet have been updated and you may have your signals back. If not, do NOT retune as it'll likely just clear your correct tuning.

Hi js. Interesting! I wonder who's responsible for that little blunder? I don't know enough about it all to know how it'll mess anything up :o

And there is No Conspiracy Theory either, the transmitter was and still is currently listed for Planned Engineering with "Possible effect on TV reception week commencing 01/04/2024 Pixelation or flickering on some or all channels" which basically means there can be reduced power or use of the reserve antenna (lower down the mast) from time to time.

As you haven't given a full postcode, we can't check which transmitter is your most likely. Most of Gloucester will be covered by the Ridge Hill main transmitter, but some spots may be covered by a relay transmitter.
It's probable you receive Ridge Hill and this is currently lis6ted for Planned Engineering with "Possible effect on TV reception week commencing 01/04/2024 Pixelation or flickering on some or all channels" which basically means there can be periods of reduced power or use of the Reserve Antenna lower down the mast. This can result in you getting a weaker signal or loss of signal if you are not in a strong reception area. Do NOT retune, as this can end up just clearing your correct tuning.
If it's the BBC SD channels you aren't receiving at present, try the HD versions LCNs 101-107.

As you haven't given a full postcode we have no idea where in the country you are and so which transmitter(s) you may be predicted/able to receive.
Many transmitters are currently listed for Planned Engineering with "Possible effect on TV reception week commencing 01/04/2024 Pixelation or flickering on some or all channels".
This probably the reason for your issue on the assumption you have done basic checks such as checking your aerial still looks intact and is pointing correctly, that the downlead isn't flapping in the wind, and that all your accessible coax connections are free of corrosion and water and connected correctly.
Do NOT retune as this can lead to your correct tuning being cleared, you cannot tune to signals that are not there or are badly pixelated.

You are surrounded by a large number of Mobile phone masts and if you put your postcode into
https://restoretv.uk/post…ure/ you'll see you should have received a postcard from Restore TV.
It's highly probable that you are suffering some interference from one or more masts which could be reducing the sensitivity of your receiving equipment and so appearing like a loss of signal.
You may also have lower strength on other multiplexes which may not be apparent if it hasn't actually had an affect on the pictures/sound.
Whatever, I would contact Restore TV and explain you are seeing some periodic pixilation and occasional loss of signal and request a Free Filter - I wouldn't specifically say it's just the NIMM mux.
The filter should be fitted between the aerial and you first piece of equipment. If the input to that equipment is an F-connector, make sure you request an F-connector version rather than coax plug.

You are talking absolute cobblers. ITV push ITVX, Ch4 push All4 (or whatever they now call it) and Five do the same with theirs! Other Channels push their Players as well.
Just look at the list of Planned Engineering. If Sy had posted on the Transmitter page he would have seen that without looking at the Planned Engineering list.
There's no conspiracy at all.

Nearly forgot, also, do check you are tuned correctly to Mendip's UHF channels and not the nearby low powered Westwood Relay transmitter.
For Mendip, your aerial should be pointing at compass bearing 246 degrees, almost WSW, with its rods (or squashed Xs) horizontal.
