Murray Snudge:

I think (I'm not looking at a 630V), On the programme tuning menu, select Programme Mode as Satellite, then Manual Tuning (making sure only Satellite selected), you then get a choice of Freesat or Other Operators.
(Also note you have a choice of Satellite under Satellite settings).
Choose Other Operators. You can choose what you want to scan.

Murray Snudge:

Sorry, meant to say if you choose Auto tuning if that's the only option, as long as you have Other Operators set it may scan through what you want.

Steve Parr:

As you know Now 90's is on the G-Man mux, see Channel listings | Freeview
You should be able to receive this and all other Winter Hill multiplexes with no problem at your location.

If you are still haviong problems with this, try a retune as follows -
Unplug the aerial and do an automatic retune - this should clear all previous tuning as no channels will be found.
Plug the aerial back in and repeat the retune. Hopefully all channels will be restored satisfactorily.

If you are still having problems please post back with the signal strength and quality for each multiplex.

An update, there were some reported problems with this multiplex Friday Afternoon. I'm led to believe this does occur with the mux on a number of occasions!

I'm led to believe (from past experience) it may take a while to get it resolved, I believe the transmitter for this mux may not be operated by Arqiva IIRC. The multiplex is supposedly run by Entertainment Television Ltd. Information, Licencing etc seems to be virtually non-existent!

Your parents may just be close enough to get a signal because technically they're outside the service area and the Freeview checker doesn't predict they'll get it - only the Liverpool mux and very unreliably/poorly the other Manchester local mux.

TV Warehouse TV Warehouse | Home & Kitchen, Cleaning, Gifts & Artisan is one of the channels on the mux and I've just been looking at the live stream on a Youtube channel. I rang this 0800-698-1-679 number that's on-screen and had a job convincing him that people in Manchester couldn't watch on Freeview because the transmitter was faulty!

Good show. I suspect it might. My thoughts on the problem were that is was likely to be a simple configuration problem which could be (and possibly was) sorted remotely, after all it only started when they made the change for Now 90s!

Jack:

Bluebell Hill is currently listed for Planned Engineering with "Possible weak signal" and the symptoms you've describe would seem to fit that. In addition, reception of the COMs4-6 multiplexes (C40, C43, C46) in normal circumstances in your general locale, is not as resilient and can be more variable than the PSBs (probably due to the different transmission mode used).
Unfortunately there's no indication about how long the work is continuing.

David Skelton :

It depends on your location as to which transmitter(s) and multiplexes you might be able to receive. We need a full postcode for the Freeview Detailed Coverage checker to look at which transmitter you may be/should be receiving/able to receive. The retune should not have changed your region.

Mendip (Somerset, England) Full Freeview transmitter

Chippenham

Richard:

Last year Sony moved a number of their channels to Local multiplexes. See Channel listings | Freeview
The Local (Bristol) multiplex is beamed NNE ish from Mendip - see the maroon polar diagram further up the page. This would suggest hat you are not likely to receive it because you are further to the E, however the Freeveiw/DUK Detailed Coverage Checker does say that you may receive it but the signal is likely to be "variable"!
The multiplex is on UHF channel 30. I'd suggest you try a manual retune on UHF C30 periodically and you might just get it, but it's not likely to be reliable all the time unless you've got a good Group T/Wideband aerial. If you've still got an old Group C/D aerial then you are lucky to be getting the PSB multiplexes!

BTW I'm not in Chippenham :) That's appeared because I was doing a signal check on your area and forgot to remove it before posting!
