Thanks for the update Jill. Glad it's resolved your issue. As there is still Planned Engineering you may still see what will hopefully be only very short occurrences of disruption.

Brian Thomas:

This sounds like you are suffering some sort of interference if it's been going on for a long time. However as you haven't given a full postcode, we can't assess your predicted reception and the likelihood of interference.

There'd been Planned Engineering by Arqiva (who maintain the transmitters) in previous weeks as detailed in several posts before yours, but there's been none listed this week and apart from the DAB fault, there's no faults currently listed for Ridge Hill (Freeview).

Arqiva or any Broadcaster are not likely to see your post here, or respond. It's a free technical help-site, but providing that full postcode would enable some assessment of the likely issue.

This is strange. There are currently no reported faults for the Taunton DAB or Mendip DAB transmitters from which you should get good reception of the main BBC National, National Commercial D1 and Local multiplexes. Mendip also has the National Commercial SDL multiplex but you may not get reception of that one depending on location.

It sounds a bit like you may be suffering some very local interference. Have you had any new electrical equipment, anything switched on that normally isn't, anything that may be faulty/misbehaving at all?
Any roadworks outside with Temporary Traffic lights? Any scaffolding gone up next to you which could affect signals? Any new or upgraded phone masts very close to you (ie. right outside your house) although they really shouldn't give a problem to DAB.

If you have any suspect electrical equipment, try turning it off or unplugging it if possible, or turn off circuits one by one (process of elimination) at the Consumer Unit and see if reception improves.

What do you mean exactly - "switched off at night" (which it isn't), what are you seeing and what do you do?
Also, if you provide a full postcode, we can check your predicted reception and whether you may be suffering any potential known sources of interference.

Any luck with your 149.40.x.x IP address now working properly?
