You should get pretty well perfect reception at your location. There's Planned Engineering at Mendip this week with "Possible weak signal" which might affect you, and in recent times there's been some tropospheric propagation which could cause interference from other transmitters using the same UHF channels but that should have subsided by now.
I assume that you have had a Group T/Wideband aerial since the retune event back in the summer. You should check in your TV tuning menus that you are tuned to the correct UHF channel (34) for the D3&4 multiplex from Mendip. You may have inadvertently auto-tuned to transmissions on 24 from the Hutton relay or on 23 from the Stockland Hill transmitter.

My apologies for not replying to you sooner. Email updates aren't immediate, they are daily, weekly etc depending on what you selected. Tropospheric propagation in recent times causing interference from other transmitters will not have helped you but that should have now subsided. There's still Transmitter Engineering at Mendip this week with "Possible weak signal".

Since earlier this year Sony have made a number of changes to their channels and which multiplexes they are broadcast on. This has restricted several of them to where only local multiplexes can be received.
Sony's latest "exciting" (not) changes are mentioned here Help | Freeview
For details about some of the previous changes, have a read of this True Entertainment | free and easy
For a full list of which channels are on which multiplex see Channel listings | Freeview

Note: COMs 7&8 (& local) multiplexes are only transmitted from certain transmitters.

As has been mentioned a few times on various pages around this site, unfortunately the site owner hasn't had time to update all the changes for over 1100 transmitters, and many are out of date or incorrect, including the Winter Hill page, due bugs in the software.
There is no retune event at Winter Hill on 23/10/19. The will be one in Q1 in 2020 another in Q2 2020, specific dates are yet TBA. For up-to-date details for Winter Hill see About us | Freeview
The DigitalUK site is normally the accurate place for information.

UHF C51 at Mendip was cleared in June when the Local mux moved to C30 along with the other mux changes.
As of yet AFAIK OFCOM have made no decision on the precise date for the current licences for the COM 7&8 multiplexes. Those licences originally ran until 2026 but with a condition that the can be revoked in specific circumstances any time post Dec.2018. I assume that there might be a decision somewhere if the dates mentioned at the top of the table on the page are correct!
Arqiva are against any change/revocation before 2022, the best information I can find is covered in this document - https://www.ofcom.org.uk/….pdf
If anyone has any links to recent OFCOM (or DCMS) documents that cover any decision or more recent Arqiva documents, perhaps they could post them.

My apologies if you come here reading again. There is a change at Winter Hill on the 23rd October BUT it is to the Local multiplex(es) only. Not having your postcode I did miss that as the Local mux detail is much further down the page. However if you'd put your postcode into the checker as I mentioned above, you may have noticed yourself.

David Railton: If you happen to read here see my reply over there.
I know I'd previously been caught out some while ago and since then I normally try to remember to check toward the bottom of the page for Local Mux detail but it's easy to miss or forget when you're trying to do a quick helpful reply to someone or maybe a bit tired. DigitalUK really need to get their act together, but based on my experience over the years, they are pretty hopeless. One error I pointed out to them didn't get corrected until 4 years later, and another recently pointed out still exists - luckily it won't be of any significant importance to most.

Oh, and forgot to say, it makes the incorrect listings here on this page even more confusing!

I assume you've got your signal back now? Did you not see the Transmitter Engineering post(s) immediately prior to yours and on the previous page. Also two of mine on the 24th pointing out that - There's still Transmitter Engineering at Mendip this week with "Possible weak signal".

In theory you are in a very good reception location but would need a full postcode to provide a more accurate predicted reception at your location, see About us | Freeview
Winter Hill does have Planned Engineering this week with "Possible service Interruptions"
Other than that, my immediate reaction, apart from checking that the aerial hasn't moved in any winds, is that you may have damaged cable or aerial connections and rain is getting in, hence affecting the signal.
