David Kirton:

Have you had your aerial changed for a wideband type? If not, you need to have one fitted as several channl;es have changed frequency and there are nore changes expected next week.

Work out the arithmetic and you quickly find they will have an increased net income.

Philip Evans:

You need to have your aerial changed to a wideband type so that it can receive all the channels correctly.

David Corbett:

Thgousands of people around your area have no problems with the signal from the Wrekin transmitter. I suggest you check all your aerial cables and connections. Unplug all the coaxial plugs/sockets and then refit them.

Also check that you have a suitable wideband aerial.

Plus you are rathger close to the transmitter at a distance of only 3 km. That suggests you may actually have too much signal and that will cause all sorts of problems, including those you report. So check the reported signal strengths, ideally they should be between 60% and 85% (no more and no less), then search this website to 'Too much of a good thing...' and follow that advice.

Brian:

Please provide a full post code so that we can use that to examine the reception conditions at your location.

The reason is that there are not yet enough DVB-T2 transmission 'slots' available. When there are more then it is likely that eventually all channels will be broadcast using DVB-T2 encoding, but not all channels will be in HD so several will remain in SD. To bring them up to HD will cost broadcasters a lot of money which the currently cannot afford.

Simon Abrahams:

It does not appear that they provide a streaming service. However, go to their website at Talking Pictures TV - An Archive Film & TV Channel and check.

On the 19th June the COM 7 programmes are moved from channel 36 to channel 55. That is one further reason to use a wideband aerial else it will not receive all the available channels.

Andy:

No one else has reported such a problem. I use Mendip in Trowbridge and do not have any such problem. So please check all you aerial cables for damage and check the coaxial plugs/sockets, unpli=ugging them and refitting to clear any possible oxidation on the contacts.

If you look at the Digital UK Coverage Checker at Coverage Checker - Detailed View (which I've set up for your post code) you will see that Durris will give variable to poor reception compared to Rosehearty. Rumster Forest would have been worth considering but as it is so far away the reception is again variable to poor.

If you do decide to try either, you will need a wideband aerial in place of your existing Group B type.

The listing shown in my link also shows the direction the aerial should be aimed at for the three possible transmitters.

Andy:

Then that suggests your TV has a problem. Please check with your neighbours to see if they have the same problems. If they don't then you need the services of a TV enginbeer.
