john blair: As no faults are listed against this station on the engineering page, nor are there any activities of an engineering nature taking place at Craigkelly, you should have a check at your aerial system starting from the jumper lead at the rear of your set.
It would though be of assistance to have knowledge of your location, this in the form of a post code or one from somewhere nearby, e.g: a shop / post office, as this would enable a terrain check of the signal path between the transmitter and wherever you happen to reside.
Although the problem is still more likely to be caused by an iffy connection in your aerial system.

deedee: Engineering work is presently in progress at a number of main stations (affecting relays of same) in the Central area, a notice warning of a "possible weak signal" or "possible service interruptions" having been posted in the planned engineering notice board.
Needless to say, the problem referred is most likely related to the aforementioned, likewise will be resolved on completion of the work.

Jon Glover: Re problem referred to, can it be assumed that you are unable to receive EPG numbers 10 -11 & 18? these three programmes broadcast on COM4/5/6 respectively, and that this deficiency was discovered after having carried out a complete retune on your TV?, preferably of the "first time installation" variety.
If it transpires that you are not able to receive the aforementioned, then the suspicion might be that the problem is possibly caused 4G transmissions, as the Mux channels involved, namely 58 /60 /56, are in the range most vulnerable to being affected by by 4G, but its doubtful if any phone masts are located in your particular area, therefore the problem might be down to some form of localised interference.
Have you as yet ascertained if any of your neighbours (or anyone else located nearby) are also experiencing a similar problem?

Jon Glover: Also meant to add, that if your TV/box uses an HDMI cable for any purpose? make sure that the aerial lead into said TV/box is kept well away from the HDMI cable, as radiation from the latter can sometimes cause problems with the reception of certain Mux channels if the aerial cable is positioned too close to this type of lead.

Anita: Tru movies2 can only be viewed on Freesat 303 or Sky (no card) 322, as its not broadcast on Freeview.

m.whitbrook: If your Freesat reception has gone downhill since your neighbour installed a Sky dish right next to your own, then its either a coincidence, or alternatively whoever installed the dish has accidentally leaned on the end of your dish knocking it slightly out of alignment, this usually being in the horizontal (right/left) plane as sometimes happens in strong wind.
Carry out a signal test on your Freesat box, if its found that the quality is lower than the strength, then the aforementioned is the most likely thing to have happened, as dishes can sit right next (parallel) to each other with no problems whatsoever being experienced.
That said, if the signal check (strength / quality) reveals fluctuation in the levels received (if observed for a minute or so) than this can be an indication of an iffy connection in one of the "F" connectors fitted at each end of the coax, although its by far more usually an indication of water ingress in the "F" connector at the LNB (dish) end of the cable, said connector having to be unscrewed from the LNB, then further unscrewed from the coax for inspection.

Sue Newton : If by "rebooting" you are referring to having disconnected it from the mains for a few minutes before powering it back up again and yet it still freezes after switching it on?, then if its still under guarantee you should return it to where you bought it from, as its operating system has developed a fault of a non-user rectifiable nature.
That said is on the assumption that the batteries in the remote control are OK.

coach: Not necessarily, as engineers working on RF and associated equipment could well experience some unforeseen problem which could place either themselves, or the equipment they are working on, in danger without a power reduction being made, this being the reason for "possible" weak signal having been posted, as it covers all eventualities.

claire: If you are connected into a communal aerial system? then you should contact the building maintenance department, as no faults (nor engineering work) is listed against the Blackhill transmitter station which covers your area.
