bill: Although you may well have found it by now, but looking from the rear its situated in a direct line upwards from the left hand side of the stand.

Mike: Just to add to what's already been mentioned, insomuch that you should be aware that although these Bush PVR's are extremely user friendly in operation compared to many of their rivals, they are however known to occasionally suffer from the problem you mention.

The other thing I have found is, that although they are listed as being 2k/8k compatible in operation they sometimes struggle to resolve a picture when operating on an 8k signal, this resulting in an aborted recording albeit the programme set for recording might still be seen in the recorded items listing.

Any box that suffers from this problem will nearly always be found to be OK if an instant recording it made, the fault only showing up on a timer set one.

TONY: Taking it that you are located at the post code given, then for the Mendip transmitter your aerial should point directly to the East and be mounted with the elements being horizontal.

Predictions are that you should get good reception, this statement being made with the usual qualifications! (i.e: never assume %100 accuracy).

Frank Mulveen: This suggests that either you are keeping the DVD player permanently switched on, which cant really be done with some players using a daisy chain link scart connection such as you have, or that the scart cable you are using is faulty.

An easy way to check which it is being to disconnect the DVD player from the mains connection, (NOT scart as well) if all works as normal by doing that then the DVD player will require to be used on another scart socket on the TV, or if none available on TV you will just have to keep it disconnected when not required, on the other hand if unplugging the DVD from the mains makes no difference, then try changing the scart cable used between the Sky box and the DVD player.

Frank Mulveen: Forgot to add, that if it is the DVD thats causing the problem, for a test you could maybe try daisy chaining the Sky box through the DVD rather than keeping it disconnected. (sockets permitting on the DVD)

martin Walsh: No, the Freesat TV (or box)should have found channels without touching anything connected to the dish, if it didnt then that can indicate that the LNB on the dish, or the lead to, is defective, or that the dish has been knocked out of alignment.

Mary: No problem about the delay! Anyway going by what's indicated on DTG's trade predictor you should be receiving a good signal from Emley Moor (24mls) with your aerial pointing to the West.

It should be said though that Emley Moor is still on pre-switch over power so any inefficiency with your aerial system might result in the signal being too low for your TV's to resolve a picture, if you carry out a complete re-scan and still nothing comes up, you should carry out a manual tune on Ch52 and check what the signal level is showing as, should there still be nothing shown then your aerial system really requires attention.

Out of interest, did you actually try the bedroom TV on the lead you are using for the TV that you cant get anything on? I ask this in case you have a broken link somewhere along the line, as you haven't mentioned anything about the cable routing from your aerial.

alan whittaker: This could suggest that the box may actually have developed a fault, but I would advise trying reset method 3 seen at the top of this page, don't be tempted to shortcut it any though, as in certain circumstances it can take longer to complete than stated.

If however the box will not respond to this action then its likely to have developed an internal fault, with the power unit being the usual suspect.
