Below are all of dorix's postings, with the most recent are at the bottom of the page.Have just bought a new car and it is the first I've had with DAB. I gather we can get DAB+ now (since 29 Feb) but around Chippenham it tends to fade in out a lot of the time. It really makes me think is it really worth using. When I do have it on, it is because I like listening to Jazz FM. The other question I keep asking people is why I don't get any info like I do on my DAB radio at home. (what the song is and who's it by) Does anybody have any definitive answers ?

Ian: Many thanks. I have a top of the range Hyundai i20. My dealers don't know much at all about DAB and had not even heard of DAB+. According to Hyundai head office, there is no reason why I shouldn't get info on the radio, but they also say that it depends on the station whether THEY put out the info. Which I think is a load of tosh. I asked somebody at Halfords and they say it depends on the radio. So I have come to the conclusion that Hyundai don't know what they're talking about and fit cheap DAB radios in their vehicles!

Ian: There is another small problem with using the DAB on my car in around Chippenhan, in that there seems to be dead spots in different places. I see by the DAB map that the only transmitter near Chippenham is Naish Hill which is about 6 or 7 miles away. Do you happento know what the coverage is and is DAB more susceptible to hills. I know for instance the radio doesn't do anything under bridges around here.

Question: Would anybody hazard a guess when BBC will have Points West in HD as it is a damn nuisance, every time we have that and other local programmes we have to change channel and back again at the end. I am pretty sure they have the technical ability but I bet it is probably the money.

I had been reading some of the comments about DAB in the past but I have not had any occasion to make comments myself until now. I have a DAB radio in my car and at home,(Chippenham Wiltshire, Aerial Naish Hill.)
Up until now the signal in my car disappeared IN most of Chippenham town. At home, I could get about 5 or 6 stations. Now for some reason (signal boosted I suppose), I have no fade in town and when I retuned my radio at home I found 47 stations. The radio I have at home is a Pure One Flow. So I wonder if someone had made a complaint!

Can anybody help? First of all my postcode SN15 3EF. I have a year old Hisense H50U7A (not a bad picture as long as it's watched square on) and I would like to receive Sony "Classic" movie channel. I can get all other Freeview channels except that one. It supposed to be on channel 50. I have retuned several times usually a month or two apart.

Having only Freeview and owning a net tv, I, like many others are short on High Definition channels. As I live under the Mendip transmitter umbrella I would love to see Film 4 on the forthcoming vacant BBC3 HD slot. I see that at the present Film 4 is only showing in HD on Virgin I believe.
