Map of all DAB transmitters

You can click on a transmitter group symbol to see all the masts in that county or area, or click on a single transmitter to see the coverage area. Due to the large number of radio transmitters, many have been grouped into counties or administrative areas for ease of viewing.

Southampton area - I have been really struggling lately with Freeview breakout and after a lot of checking i now narrow it down to channel 27 (d3 and D4). The thought now ocurs - could that channel have been adversely affected by a new 4g mast in the area or somesuch? Does anyone know? I have done a vast number of clean retunes, replaced cables etc, do I need to get a filter? Help !

Michael Jordan:

If you give us a full post code, a map becomes available that shows you and us where you are in relation to the TV transmitters and also whether there are any fairly local mobile transmitter masts, one of which (if any) could be a 4G service. If there is such nearby, a filter should help. They are free from at800, just contact them via their website, https://at800.tv/contact-us/.

Clive Watson: Chard is currently planned to fill a gap on the BBC national DAB multiplex as part of the plan to match the coverage of BBC Radio 2FM. It has not been proposed to add any other DAB services to that site. Planet Rock was carried on the D1 national commercial multiplex, which incidentally is being built out to match coverage of Classic FM in readiness of a possible future switch off for FM transmitters radiating national services. SDL, the new home of Planet Rock, is a low budget DAB network with restricted coverage from a smaller network of transmitters. Transmission costs are therefore much less for services opting for carriage on SDL rather than D1. I suspect that you receive D1 from Stockland Hill, which is not yet used by SDL. The owners of the new multiplex have not indicated whether they plan to extend coverage into Devon in the future, but if they do it is likely that Stockland Hill would be chosen to become part of the network.

It would appear I cannot receive the New Planet Rock transmissions at home (Scarborough YO12), only the old one which I believe is being switched off soon. Is this a temporary situation? Not sure if other stations are also missing as I rarely listen to any other Dab Stations especially in the car other than Planet Rock & BBC R4. Is it back to CDs etc for me?

Have just bought a new car and it is the first I've had with DAB. I gather we can get DAB+ now (since 29 Feb) but around Chippenham it tends to fade in out a lot of the time. It really makes me think is it really worth using. When I do have it on, it is because I like listening to Jazz FM. The other question I keep asking people is why I don't get any info like I do on my DAB radio at home. (what the song is and who's it by) Does anybody have any definitive answers ?
