"Thank you for your email dated 26 April regarding digital reception.
We would expect you to receive your digital service from the Bluebell Hill transmitter. The reception from this transmitter would be variable on some of the digital services. Both of the UHF channel numbers you mention are the ones affected. This would mean that broadcasts on these frequencies are prone to break up and loss of service.
The Sandy Heath transmitter is out with the range of your area and would be unlikely to be able to interfere with reception to your address. As the prediction is for a variable reception on these channels this would be reason you are having difficulty in getting some channels."
Their reason doesn't explain 4 years of excellent reception and now rubbish, (which I let them know is what has happened), but Briantist's does.
I just think they do not want to admit that the upgrading is not being handled properly so they do not have to do anything.

So since Bluebell Hill is almost the last transmitter to be switched we can expect the situation to get far worse before it gets finally sorted?
One wonders why they chose the most densely populated areas to be left till last.

Just had a message come up on our TV about freeview, blue for more info, yellow to get rid of message. Wife hit yellow as she watching at the time.
Anybody be able to tell me what it is about please?

It's just come up again, it says that my area is soon to be switched over and if I need help to ring a help line costing 4p per minute.
Strange as our switch over is due 27th June 2012!
It seems this message is coming up every time we switch channels, how annoying is that?
Hope it doesn't carry on for the 6 months.

Hi,
Do not usually use our TV as we have TalkTalk Plus, but while waiting for the box to be changed tried to use the TV, but it only had channels 3 to 33 and no amount of re-tuning made any difference. I also have another freeview box, which we could use and this had all the channels.
New TalkTalk box arrives, and again, no problem with getting all channels, but the TV will still only re-tune from 3 to 33.
Any ideas? Has the tuner gone kaput on the TV?

Thanks,
Steve

Thank you for the response Dave,
Unfortunately using manual tune doesn't give me a signal strength.
Actually scanning using manual lists 22 sevices on C46, none of which are available to be stored.
Checking the signal using the TalkTalk box I get 60% strength and 100% quality on BBC 1.
I can't remember the last time I tried to use the TV tuner, but a few months ago it was OK.
Can't understand why both freeview boxes are getting all the channels, but the inbuilt one in the TV isn't.
Thanks,
Steve

Maidstone
Just sent an "email" to Digital UK saying the way the Sandy Heath turn on has been handled is appalling because of the affect on 200,000 customers. Also that they need to do something about it.
Probably will not hear back from them though.
