AnandLeo: A dish is used to receive satellite signals and is not suitable for receiving Freeview. Either you're actually connecting to an aerial on the roof or in the loft somewhere, or you're just receiving a strong signal being picked up by the cable. The cables coming from a satellite dish will have screw connectors, whereas cables from a terrestrial aerial (i.e. one used to receive Freeview) will normally have push connectors. Start by checking the cables and connections that you are using are the correct type and aren't loose or damaged.

Burns .: If you have Pick and Dave, try retuning your TV and Sky News should appear on channel 233.

Burns .: Try retuning with the aerial disconnected (make a note of any planned recordings first) which should result in all channels being deleted, the reconnect the aerial and retuning again should result in all of your channels reappearing on the correct numbers.

L Fleck: Which channels have you tried to access subtitles on? Subtitles are inserted by the broadcaster, so you would need to contact the broadcaster of the channel you're watching.

william perry: PBS America is broadcast on the COM8 multiplex which is not broadcast from Llanddona. COM8 (along with COM7) is a temporary service which is broadcast from 30 main transmitters covering around 75% of UK households and will close some time between 2020 and 2022.

Barbara: I've just checked That's Oxford's website but can't see anything to suggest that the channel is available on cable.

Jenny: ITV3 is broadcast on the COM4 multiplex which (along with COM5 & COM6) is broadcast from 80 main transmitters covering around 90% of UK households. It is not available from lite transmitters such as Aldeburgh which only broadcast the PSB1/2/3 multiplexes. You would have to ask ITV whether they have any plans to move ITV3 to their capacity on PSB2.

Graham : Try powering the box off then disconnect the satellite connections on the back and power the box back on. If it allows you to play recordings with the satellite inputs disconnected then you will be fine to connect it to a TV with a HDMI input anywhere in the world.

Tom Allen: The reception map accesses by clicking the blue Freeview map link under your post works fine for me. Perhaps try clearing your browser cache and refreshing the page (hold CTRL on your keyboard and press F5).
