Problems with Sagem and TUTV Thompson PVRs
Sunday 28 January 2018 7:06PM

Kirsten : Try unplugging the box from the mains for 5-10 minutes, then plug it back in and try switching it on again. If that doesn't work then the box probably is dead.

keith: Have you checked for any loose or damaged cables or connections behind your TV? Do not attempt to retune.

Rebecca Wedge: Start by checking for loose or damaged cables or connections behind your TV. What signal strength and quality readings do you get for these channels?

Marshall: Knockmore doesn't even show on the prediction for your postcode so I'm not surprised that it's too weak to be usable. COM7 & COM8 are showing as no signal from Durris for your postcode which again is no surprise as COM7 & COM8 are only broadcast at 14.46kW compared to PSB1-3 at 100kW and COM4-6 at 50kW from Durris. Freesat is probably your best option for reliable reception.

Clement Fisher: Digital UK report PSB1-3 as being 20kW and COM4-6 as 10kW. Given that no one posting on this completely independent website has anything to do with any broadcaster or transmitter company we can only take their word for it. If you provide a full postcode we can look at your predicted coverage and may be able to offer further advice.

MichaelW: None of those channels have ever been broadcast from Malvern (they're all on the COM8 multiplex which is not available from Malvern) so you were previously picking them up from another transmitter. By retuning you've now deleted them from your channel list. If you provide a full postcode we can access your predicted coverage which should reveal which transmitter they were coming from and if there is anything you can do to get them back.

True Entertainment
Tuesday 30 January 2018 11:29PM

sue & Alan Lewendon: There were some changes made last week to the transponder that broadcasts True Entertainment on satellite and it appears that your receivers haven't picked up the change. Try putting them in standby, then unplug them from the mains for 5-10 minutes, then plug them back in and switch on which should cause the box to rescan for channels.

Julie: Viva closed yesterday. It has been replaced on satellite by MTV Loves which doesn't appear to be coming to Freeview.

Forces TV
Wednesday 31 January 2018 1:17PM

Paul: Can your BT Vision box and your neighbour's TV receive the HD channels? Forces TV is broadcast on the COM8 multiplex which needs a DVB-T2 capable TV or box to receive it (most compatible TVs and set top boxes/PVRs will have the Freeview HD logo on them somewhere).

Martin Melbourne: We need a full postcode so that we can see where you are in relation to the transmitter and your predicted coverage etc. Retuning will never fix a problem with poor signal as all you are doing is deleting your correctly tuned channels and searching for them again.
