liz: It's your box so you can do whatever you like with it. What you won't be able to do is record anything or access any previous recordings as an active subscription is required for recording features to be enabled.

Tristan: You are most likely suffering from some form of local interference, probably caused by something in either your (or a neighbours) home operating on a timer switch.

teresa: The Keswick transmitter page (this is the page for Caldbeck) shows that it has been off air since 11:55 this morning. No planned engineering work is listed so this is presumably due to a fault at the transmitter site (e.g. loss of power). Do not attempt to retune, your channels will return on their own once the transmitter is back on air.

steve: You don't need to subscribe to Sky to get TV via satellite, you can easily cancel Sky and connect a Freesat box to your existing dish and cabling as a one off purchase. No plans have been announced to build new transmitters anywhere since digital switchover.

Ken: We need to know where you (please provide a postcode) are so we can see which transmitter you are using before anyone can offer advice on why you've lost ITV.

Janet Steele: Fort William is served by the Cow Hill transmitter which is a relay of the main station at Torosay (not Inverarish which you have posted under). Torosay is currently reported to be off air which will also cause a loss of signal at all of it's relays. As the fault originates at a main station it will be being worked on continuously until it is back on air. Do not attempt to retune your TV, your channels will return on their own as soon as the transmitter is fixed.

Paul Batt: Radio 5 Live is not broadcast on MW from Stockland Hill so cannot be affected by any engineering work taking place there. Radio 5 Live is normally broadcast on 693KHz from Start Point but has been on reduced power since one of the masts was demolished earlier this year after a supporting cable snapped leaving the mast in a dangerous condition. I can't find any confirmation as to whether the work to build a replacement mast has been completed or not.
