Robin Cloke: Times Radio and Scala are both broadcast on the SDL National multiplex, which did expand it's coverage to a number of new transmitters a few years ago, however nothing has been announced about any future plans to expand coverage. You could try contacting the stations to ask if they have any plans to provide coverage in your area.

Mr Philip Black: Firstly, this isn't Freeview's website and nobody who has any connection with either Freeview, or any broadcaster or transmitter company will see your message on this independent technical help website.
Have you checked for any loose or damaged cables or connections behind your TV? Is the problem only happening during those hours, or does it happen at other times? If the problem only happens at those times, it may be the result of electrical interference from something in your home (or nearby) operating on a timer. Also, does it affect any other channels, or just Horror channel?

Christopher Smith: West Runton is a Freeview Lite transmitter, it does not (and probably never will) broadcast most commercial channels such as GB News. If you provide a full postcode (NR27 covers a wide area) we can check whether you might be able to receive GB News and many other commercial channels from another transmitter. Alternative, you could look at getting Freesat, or watch online if you have a reasonable broadband connection.

michael: Most of the population of Devon can get reception of Radio Decon on FM and DAB using a portable radio. There are very few people still listening to local radio on AM, which is why most BBC local AM transmitters are being closed as the transmitters are old and it is expensive to continue to maintain and operate or replace then. The required tech for listening online (e.g. a smart speaker) aren't exactly expensive any more and don't require a particularly fast connection to listen to the radio. DAB coverage may get some further enhancements in the future, but it is only likely to happen once a date has been set for FM transmitters to close.
These closures need to be viewed in the wider context that the number of people being affected is very low and that it is disproportionally expensive to continue providing a service that is being used by low and declining numbers of people. If the BBC continued to fund the cost of AM transmitters they would have to cut other things instead.

Briantist, I think you may have got the coverage figures for COM6 mixed up with COM7. COM6 has coverage of 90+% of UK households from 90 transmitters, whereas COM7 is around 75% from 25 transmitters. Also, GB News has launched in HD on Sky and Freesat.

Stuart: I suspect it's probably down to interference. Although it's too far away to receive, Crystal Palace uses the same frequencies for the COM4/5/6 multiplexes as Rowridge and you're unfortunately in the area where the signal from from both transmitters cancel each other out.

Barry Walton: Ridge Hill should generally give coverage in Ross on Wye and will give you far more channels than the local relay, however we need a full postcode (or one from a nearby pub/school/shop/etc) to be able to see what the predicted coverage is at your exact location.
