Rolf George: Is there a rescan option in the menu somewhere? If so, try that. Some older Freesat receivers don't seem to have handled the switchover to BBC One HD regions very well.

All BBC One HD regions have now launched on Freesat and the final region (South East) will be completed on Sky tomorrow. By tomorrow all Sky and Freesat viewers with a HD receiver should see their local BBC One HD region on 101. Viewers using an SD box will receive the BBC One Nightlight service with no regional news until April 2024, by which time they will need to upgrade to a HD receiver to continue receiving BBC channels via satellite.

Frank Rogers: We need a full postcode to be able to see the predicted reception at your exact location, but give how close the Mendip transmitter is to Wells it seems likely to be possible, assuming there aren't any hills or buildings etc in the way.

Julie: The isn't much that anyone here can do as this is an independent technical help site which isn't linked to any broadcaster. Try contacting Great! Network via their website at the link below - the more people who tell them they want subtitles, the more likely they are to take notice.

Richard Hood: What's the model number of the LG TV? Has it ever received any HD channels? If it's an older TV it may not support the DVB-T2 transmissions used for HD channels on Freeview.

James Murphy: Teletext closed when the last analogue TV transmitters were shutdown back in 2012. Do you mean the BBC red button text service? It just pulls articles from the BBC's website, which should able to be used with a screen reader or similar.

David: The 700MHz band was auctioned off to the mobile networks and is probably now being used on one or more phone masts near you. Try UHF channel 33 as it doesn't seem to be in use on any transmitters predicted to be available at your postcode.

scott baker: The post between yours says that the transmitter is off air due to a fault, so it will depend on the cause of the fault and how complicated it is to fix. Most transmitter faults are resolved within a few hours. Do not attempt to retune, your signal will return once the transmitter is back on air.
