Ade Langford: Do you actually have a problem with signal breaking up? Which HD channels are you referring to, as different channels are broadcast at different power levels?

Mrs Julie Hughes: Did you previously have ITV3 and have now lost it or was it never there before? Please provide a postcode so we can see which transmitters cover your area.

peter jones: Your Sky box will continue to receive all free to air channels, however it will not be able to record unless you have an active Sky subscription.

Nigel Dixon: It isn't as simple as disconnecting Granada HD and connecting Yorkshire HD. ITV HD is broadcast on the PSB3 multiplex which is operated by the BBC and currently only has one North of England version which carries ITV Granada HD. The BBC have said that they intend to start rolling out regional versions of BBC One HD this year (which is also broadcast on PSB3) which will eventually result in each region carrying the correct regional version of both BBC One HD and ITV HD for their region, however no timescale has been announced yet for this to happen.

Sewell: The internet streamed version of Showcase TV on 254 left Freeview last week, it is still available on Sky channel 212 and Freesat channel 161.

Adam: The commercial broadcaster were given the opportunity to broadcast from more transmitters after digital switchover but were not interested in doing so. If you have poor reception and live less than a mile from the transmitter then you need to get your aerial system sorted out. Start by checking for loose or damaged cables behind the TV and then follow as far as you can safely access towards the aerial. If you can't find anything wrong and replacing cables makes no improvement then it's time to get an aerial installer out. Alternatively you could get Freesat which will give you nearly all of the channels available on full service Freeview transmitters for a one off cost of a box along with the installation of a dish and cabling (if the property hasn't previously had Sky or Freesat).
