s dawkins: If its happening at the same time every day, a likely cause would be electrical interference from a nearby device containing an electric motor which operates on a timer, such as a central heating pump.

Dave: According to Digital UK's checker, the 3 PSB muxes are being dual radiated on UHF 32/35/36 on a separate radiation pattern but not COM4/5/6 or the local mux. COM4/5/6 are due to move to their new allocations on 14th March 2018 with the duplicated PSB1 moving to 48 at the same time, however the main PSB1/2/3 and the local mux will move to their final allocations in late 2019.

paul beer: You might be able to get it on 648kHz MW. It isn't available on DAB in Stafford.

Eric Rinaldi: That sounds like your aerial is actually pointed at the Rosneath transmitter rather than Black Hill (both are predicted to give good coverage at your postcode, however Rosneath does not broadcast COM7, COM8 or the local mux). As Rosneath uses vertical polarisation, the little rods will be pointing up and down, rather than side to side for Black Hill. Realigning your aerial for Black Hill (along with remounting it for horizontal polarity) should gain you the additional HD channels on COM7 and COM8, along with STV2 on the local mux (or increase the signal strength if these services are already present but at low strength).

Richard gough : Have you checked for any loose or damaged cables or connections behind your TV? You're just 2km from the Idle transmitter so it's possible that you are suffering with signal overload (search for the article "too much of a good thing" on this website).

Eric Rinaldi: Black Hill is on lower frequencies than Rosneath and so would be found first on an automatic scan if signals from both are present (you're equal distance from both and Black Hill broadcasts at a much higher power level - enough to be picked up off the back of the aerial). Realigning the aerial for Black Hill would increase your signal strength.

Peter: Talking Pictures moved from COM7 to COM6 yesterday and can now therefore be received by any Freeview receiver that can receive 4Music on LCN 18.

Martin Epstein: You do not receive a satellite signal from any ground based transmitter. If you put your full postcode into this website you'll get a coverage prediction which will tell you whether it would be possible to receive Emley Moor at your location.
