Most flats have them. Just get a short coaxial lead to connect from the socket on the wall to the one on the back of your TV.

John Sykes: The new Com78 National has been created because the COM7 & COM8 muxes are becoming a single frequency network (SFN) and therefore need to have identical broadcasts, therefore each transmitter has to broadcast the same region information for COM7 & COM8. I would suggest contacting Philips technical support as this will presumably affect anyone else using that model who can receive COM7/COM8 and may lead to Philips issuing a firmware update if there are a large number of affected users.

Terry Bannon: The Digital UK predictor shows COM8 to be weaker than the other muxes at your postcode, although this should improve when it changes frequency early next year. Does your TV or set top box/PVR have a manual tuning function in the menu somewhere? If it does, try a manual tune on UHF channel 34.

Allyson: Have you actually tried the socket? The person you spoke to at the council may have been looking at wrong/outdated information. What do you your neighbours use? An indoor aerial may get you some channels, but most of them are rubbish (they are often little more than a piece of wire sticking out of an amplifier which will pick up a lot of unwanted noise which can drown out the signals you want).

Lucy mendonca: There are no faults showing for the Kings Lynn transmitter but if you provide a full postcode we'll be able to see which transmitters serve your exact location, predicted signal strength and your distance from the transmitter etc. Have you checked whether any of your neighbours are experiencing the same problem? I'm not sure why you think cancelling your TV Licence will achieve anything as it is a licence to receive television broadcasts via any method, not a subscription to receive any particular transmissions.

Rich Hurst: The Digital UK predictor only shows the Rothbury relay as being receivable at your postcode, rather than Chatton. Both Chatton and Rothbury show a short outage lasting a few minutes yesterday afternoon, so there could be further work being carried out this morning that hasn't shown up yet if there was a fault that caused yesterday afternoons outage, rather then planned engineering work.

Rich Hurst: There are no faults showing for the transmitter. Have you checked for any loose or damaged cables or connections behind your TV or checked if any neighbours are suffering a loss of signal?

Barry Elkington: What signal strength and quality readings do you get when viewing 5USA and what do you get on other channels such as Pick (channel 11) or Dave (channel 12)?

John Sykes: Does your PVR have a manual tuning function? If so, select the West region then try manually tuning COM7 on UHF channel 33 and COM8 on 35.
