Retuning will not fix signal problems and can make things worse by deleting channels making it harder to tell when the problem has been fixed.

Christine chadwick: Please see my post from yesterday and the transmitter engineering notice above your post. There is currently engineering work taking place at Olivers Mount until the end of this week.

Keith P: There are no frequency changes taking place until late next year, so there is no need to retune when the work is complete. The exact nature of the work has not been published but could be related to the frequency changes that will take place across the country between the end of next year and mid 2020 (or it could be something else entirely). Poor reception when it's raining has nothing to do with the transmitter.

P Woodley: Are you referring to one of the older BT Vision boxes? Those didn't have DVB-T2 tuners and therefore can't receive the COM8 mux which Front Runner is broadcast on.

nicholas: You keep mentioning band 3 aerials, but why should anyone climb on to a roof to retrieve an old one when there are plenty of new ones available (both directional and omnidirectional) which are suitable for loft or rooftop installation?

Fred : Bude is on the list of planned transmitters for both the BBC National and Cornwall multiplexes so it may be that the transmitter has just been activated. Unfortunately there isn't a publicly available list of future transmitters for the D1 National mux.

Barry Martin: The channels you mention are not broadcast from the Newhaven transmitter.

Steve Humphreys: The Storeton transmitter was built to fill gaps in coverage from Winter Hill, although both have overlapping coverage across much of Merseyside. Storeton also broadcasts the Welsh channels directionally towards North Wales to cover gaps in Moel-Y-Parc's coverage.

David: Sky viewers do not get regional news on BBC One HD as Sky boxes receive the same BBC channels from the same satellites as Freesat boxes, whoever told you that was misinformed. The BBC have said they want to start rolling out all their regional versions of BBC One and BBC Two nations in HD during their new charter period which begins next year. No firm dates have been announced but it seems likely that HD regions will start to appear on satellite and Freeview next year.

Denise Earnshaw & Luigi Tolomeo: There is currently engineering work going on at Olivers Mount which is due to last until the end of this week. While this work takes place the transmitter will be running at reduced power or be switched off completely for up to several hours during the daytime each day. Do not attempt to retune, your channels will return by the evening. See the article at the link below for more information.
