Scott: Which explanation are you referring to, as I can't see it on this page? COM7 & COM8 are in the process of becoming single frequency networks (SFNs) on UHF channels 55 & 56 which form the centre gap of the new 700MHz mobile band. Ofcom are not expecting the mobile networks to use the centre gap for 5G straight away and have previously announced that COM7 & COM8 will continue to broadcast on those frequencies until they are required by the mobile networks (at which point COM7 & COM8 will close). See link below for further details.

neil pickin: Your Sky box will receive all of the Free To Air (FTA) channels and if you have a viewing card inserted it will also get a few additional Free To View (FTV) channels (as well as the correct BBC, ITV & Channel 4/S4C region).

Stephen: The loss of signal you are seeing is almost certainly caused by electrical interference, as the transmitters do not reduce their broadcaster power (except during a fault or engineering work). It is most likely being caused by something operating on a timer, either in your home or somewhere close by.

p cocks: If you're getting BBC Radio Wales then it's definitely coming from a Welsh transmitter. Capital UK and Classic FM are national DAB stations broadcast from hundreds of transmitters all over the UK.

john: Most Freeview PVRs don't have any means of recording from a Sky box (or any other non-digital source). From looking at the specifications, this appears to be the case for the Panasonic DMR-EX97.

Peter Hancock: COM7 & COM8 are temporary multiplexes and are due to close in the next few years. They have been moved to UHF channels 55 & 56 which form the centre gap of the new 700MHz mobile band in order to continue broadcasting beyond the completion of the 700MHz clearance, as the mobile networks are not expected to start using those centre gap frequencies for at least another couple of years, at which point COM7 & COM8 will close. Lynne Farmiloe: If by upgrade, you mean transmitter frequency change, then you should contact the Freeview Advice Line who can arrange for a replacement wideband aerial to be fitted (free of charge if you don't have satellite or cable). See the link below for details:

Gary Law: If multiple residents are having the same problem you need to get in touch with whoever is responsible for the communal aerial system and get them to send someone out to investigate.

Jackie Webb: As per my post earlier this evening, give the Freeview Advice Line a call (see link below). They can arrange for a replacement wideband aerial to be fitted (free of charge if you don't have satellite or cable).
