David Harris Boulter: Instead of threatening legal action, particularly against the wrong people (Enom are a domain registrar, they are not the owners of this website), why not just contact the actual owner Brian Butterworth who posts on this website under the name Briantist and ask him to update the incorrect information? You'd be far more likely to get a friendly and more helpful response too.

David Harris Boulter: I don't have any contact details for Briantist, I'm just someone who posts comments on this website. There used to be an about page which I think had some details, but it seems to have broken or been removed, as I can't find it.

Dave: I'm just a volunteer contributor who tries to answer questions and help people when I can, I have nothing to do with running this website. I have no idea what the original source of the information is, nor do I have any way of updating it. Briantist is the person you need, I'm not aware that anyone else is involved in running or updating this website.

David Harris Boulter: Just to note, the fault and planned maintenance reports that appear automatically come from a BBC Engineering feed, there isn't any information for any commercial or community broadcasters. There are unfortunately lots of mapping errors on this website, which are frequency pointed out and acknowledge by regular contributors like myself and a few others. Given that this is an unofficial help site, I doubt many people would be relying on it as a primary source of data and I'm sure Ofcom aren't in the least bit concerned, nor would other radio stations. Perhaps you could provide a link to your own coverage map if you have one.

Fiona: Please provide a full postcode so that we can see what the predicted reception is at your exact location. Were you previously receiving Sony Classic Movies? If you were, it may be that broadcast power has been reduced temporarily whilst the engineering work is taking place.
Barrie: We need to know where you are (please provide a full postcode) to know what reception is predicted to be like at your location. There is currently planned engineering work taking place at Mendip, which may result in the transmitter broadcasting at lower power temporarily whilst the work takes place. Have you checked for any loose or damaged cables or connections behind your TV? If you retuned whilst the channels were missing you may have deleted the correct tuning data for the missing channels.

David McKay: Apart from PSB channels, it's generally down to which broadcaster is prepared to pay the highest amount for the available capacity. It's not decided by anyone who has any connection with this website by the way, which is an independent technical help site.

Tom H: Retuning will not help when the channels are already correctly tuned and as you have discovered, can cause the tuning data to be deleted if there isn't enough signal when the retune is carried out. There has been engineering work taking place recently at Mendip, which may mean that transmitter power is reduced for periods of time whilst the work is taking place. Do you know what frequencies the SLX amplifier is filtering? As COM7 is broadcast as a single frequency network (SFN) on UHF channel 55 in the centre gap of the 700MHz band, which has otherwise been cleared and is about to be auctioned off to the mobile networks, with COM7 being expected to close by summer 2022 (no date has yet been announced).

Tom H: That amplifier is only filtering out the 800MHz band, so shouldn't cause any problem with COM7. Does your Humax box have a manual tuning function? If it does it may be worth trying a manual tune on UHF channel 55 periodically to see if the signal has returned. If you can provide a full postcode, we'll be able to see the predicted signal strength at your exact location, which may enable further advice to be offered.

Mark Warner: LBC News is broadcast in DAB+ on the D1 National multiplex (alongside LBC in standard DAB), so it sounds like your car radio supports DAB+, but your Tesco DAB radio does not.

Dave Jones: The output power has not been reduced at any transmitter, except for short periods of time during planned engineering works or due to a fault, and certainly not lasting for several months. It's far more likely that there is a fault in your aerial system somewhere, perhaps some bad weather over the winter has damaged it. Start by checking for any loose or damaged cables or connections behind your TV, then follow the cable as far as you can safely access back towards the aerial.
