Nick Vandervell: The problem is that the weather conditions cause the signals to travel further so signals from more distant transmitters which wouldn't usually be receivable start to interfere with signals on the same frequency from the transmitter you are trying to receive. There is nothing that can be done to the transmitters to fix it (increasing the power output will not help as that just increases interference elsewhere) as the transmitters aren't at fault, it's down to the laws of physics.

Jean M Hill: Great! Movies Classic is carried on the local TV multiplex which is only available in areas where there is a local TV station on Freeview channel 7 or 8. Assuming the ! in your postcode is supposed to be a 1, there is no local multiplex broadcasting to your area. Ofcom haven't announced any plans to licence any new local TV stations, so the only way that coverage will change is if the channel's owners are willing to pay the additional costs of moving to one of the national multiplexes which cover 90%+ of UK households (also depending on space being available).

Derek: There have unfortunately been errors in the information on this page for a long time, the only person who can correct it is the owner of the website. Crystal Palace has never used UHF channel 48, PSB3 has been on C30 since digital switchover was completed in 2012.

Ally: Retuning will not fix a signal fault as all you are doing is deleting your tuning information and searching for the same signal again, which can often make the problem worse. If you provide a full postcode we can see what the predicted signal strength is at your location and may be able to offer further advice.

Mike: Unfortunately the owner of this website hasn't managed to update a lot of the transmitter frequency changes that took place as part of the 700MHz clearance over the last few years. The Freeview Detailed Coverage Checker should always be relied upon as the definitive source over any 3rd party website such as this.

Ben P: It's more likely down to interference due to the current weather conditions causing signals to travel further, with the effect that signals distant transmitters broadcasting on the same frequency which would not normally be receivable are interfering with the signal you are trying to receive from Emley Moor (there is currently a warning of possible interference for Emley).

S4C HD has now launched on Freeview channel 110 from transmitters in Wales. Broadcast hours begin at 7pm each evening as the capacity on PSB3 is time shared with CBBC HD.

Freeview have now confirmed that BBC Three will launch on channel 23 and BBC Three HD will launch on 109 on 26th January. Channels in the entertainment section from Dave Ja Vu upwards will be shuffled up by one place (in most instances) to end up one higher than their current number. George Bunyan: In theory you should be anything from UHF channel 32 to 38 as Bilsdale doesn't use any of those, however in practice it may depend on whether you can also receive signals from any other transmitters which could interfere. If you enter your postcode into the Freeview detailed checker (see link below) it will show you all of the transmitters predicted to be receivable at your location and the frequencies/UHF channel numbers used by each of them.
