Has he lost any of those or any other channels?

Dee Maskell: This isn't Really's website and it's unlikely that anyone from the channel will see your comment here.

Brenda Hattersley: The latest information has been provided by Arqiva at the link below. No switch on date has been provided, probably to allow for suitable weather conditions to enable testing to be completed before the new temporary mast can be switched on. The replacement permanent mast is due to be built this summer and come in to operation during Spring next year.

Chris.SE & Andrew McFarlane: Which ITV region is Andrew expecting to receive? The various ITV HD regions are spread across different transponders so it would help to know which and whether Andrew has tried resetting the box and using a postcode from another region to get a different ITV HD region when setting it up again?

Bill Hurley: GB News is only broadcast in HD on satellite. Which Freesat receiver are you using? I wasn't aware that there were any that didn't allow you to record another channel whilst watching a HD channel.

Michael Ellis: COM7 is often broadcast at a lower power level than the main PSB & COM4-6 multiplexes. If you provide a full postcode we can check the predicted signal strength at your location, but as a general thing to try, adjust your attenuator whilst tuned to COM7, then if you get to a setting where you have a picture that doesn't break up try switching to channels on the PSB and COM multiplexes and see if you can find a sweet spot where all of them work, you may not need to bring the signal on the others down as low as 77%, just taking a bit off may be enough.

Freida Whitson: I'm not entirely sure what you hope to achieve, but you can contact Channel 4 via their website at the link below.

Brian Lofthouse: HD channels broadcast on Sky and Freesat are all 1080i, HD channels on Freeview can be a mix of 1080i and 1080p but as there is only limited capacity available they are all broadcast at a much lower bit rate than typically used on BluRay discs, resulting in a lower picture quality. Most 4K/UHD content is delivered over the internet, so the bit rate used will partly depend on your broadband connection being fast enough to stream the film or program and not just the video file being played from the server. It's difficult to tell what it will be like watching at home as there are so many variables, but you could ask the shop to play a UHD programme from iPlayer to give you an idea of how real world content is displayed, rather than just watching something played from a demonstration disc (or more likely hard drive/USB stick).

Mr Ray Hughes: Try contacting Restore TV, the organisation set up by the mobile networks to deal with this kind of issue. You should be able to apply for a free filter via their website at the link below.

Mark: Waltham has a power output of 50kw on the PSB multiplexes and 25kw on COM4/5/6 so at 10 miles away it is extremely unlikely that the problem is anything to do with the transmitter. If you are loosing reception whenever it rains or there are high winds then it is far more likely to be caused by the weather attacking your aerial system, particularly if the wind has blown it out of alignment or the rain has gotten in and corroded cables or connections. If you provide a full postcode then we can see what the predicted reception is like at your location and may be able to offer more specific advice.
