Miles: Presumably the TV is too old to have a SCART socket so you would need to use a Freeview box with a UHF modulator output, which is probably going to involve finding an older Freeview box as I don't think I've seen any Freeview HD boxes which have a modulator and SD only Freeview boxes haven't been on sale for a few years now.

jimmy: You should be able to get a good signal from Rosneath using a vertically polarized aerial (elements pointing up and down) on a compass bearing of 292 degrees. Blackheath is only predicted to provide a good signal on the PSB3 and local TV multiplexs, all others are predicted to be poor or variable.

Rex Watson: Freesports have announced that they will be leaving Freeview next week but will continue to broadcast on Sky and cable, as well as via their online player FreeSportsPlayer.tv Live and On Demand and Samsung TV Plus.

Adrian: Try contacting Restore TV (the organisation setup and funded by the mobile networks to resolve 700/800MHz interference problems) at the link below. They should be able to send you a free plug-in filter if 4G/5G interference is predicted to be likely at your location.

Harry Hughes: There are currently no reported faults or engineering work at Findon and there has been no announcement of any transmitters closing. Retuning was the worst thing to do as you have now deleted all of your channels which were previously correctly tuned, making it much more difficult to work out what is causing the loss of signal. You'll have to keep retuning periodically to see if the signal has returned (it's possible there is a recent fault which hasn't shown up yet) or some sort of local electrical interference. If the signal doesn't return this evening or tomorrow then it would be time to start investigating further.

B Fair: What do you mean by dropout zones? The TV Licence is not a subscription, it only funds the BBC and S4C who make their channels available as widely as possible, i.e. every national BBC channel is broadcast from all 1,100+ transmitters, S4C is broadcast from every transmitter in Wales, BBC Scotland & BBC Alba are broadcast from every transmitter in Scotland, as well as all BBC regions being available on satellite and iPlayer. Viewers in Freeview Lite areas who don't have satellite or cable are still receiving all the channels funded by the licence fee, the commercial channels that aren't available in those areas don't receive a penny of licence fee funding.
