The Beacon Hill transmitter is operated by Arqiva, who have contact details on their website (see link below) to report any safety issues.

Zman: CNN International is on Sky channel 506. It's free to air (FTA) and doesn't not require a subscription.

Anthony Bowkett: You are predicted to receive a strong signal from the Sutton Coldfield transmitter. It's generally recommended to use a Group K or wideband type of aerial such as a log periodic which will receive the entire UHF channel 21 to 48 range used for Freeview. Any reputable aerial installer should be able to supply and fit something suitable.

Chris: ITV have been upgrading the distribution of their channels on Freeview. This is separate to the work carried out by the BBC to enable the launch of BBC One HD regions and is being completed on a different timescale. I did see reports of some testing taking place last week, so that may be an indication that the launch of the remaining ITV HD regions on Freeview may not be far away.

Mike Cadwallen: There no possibility that lip sync issues could be caused by your amplifier as the signal it is amplifying is comprised of one combined data stream for each multiplex (unlike an analogue channel there are no separate audio and video carriers). Are all of the TVs the same make and model?

Mike Cadwallen: In that case I'd suggest reporting it to the BBC, ITV, Channel 4 & Channel5 (see links below) as it is happening on multiple different TVs in different households, which would suggest that it is happening in the transmission chain somewhere, rather than anything in your home.

Stephen: H Indicates that the transmitter broadcasts in horizontal polarity (i.e. the aerial elements go side to side as in your photo).
We need a full postcode to be able to access the predicted signal strength at your location, but in general log periodic or Group K aerials offer the best option if you're in an area with reasonable signal strength and are suitable for receiving the entire UHF frequency range used for Freeview.

Paul Reuben Bruney: The transmitter engineering post above yours warns of the signal from the Sheffield transmitter being disrupted over the last week, which may still be continuing over the weekend. It's worth checking for any loose or damaged cables or connections, but do not attempt to retune when you have no signal as you will end up deleting channels which are already correctly tuned.

tony: Unfortunately this page is one of many on this site with errors in the transmitter details. The PSB1-3 muxes are broadcast at 200kW in both polarisations, the COM4-6 muxes are broadcast at 50kW horizontal and 200kW vertical. If you can give us a full postcode and tell us whether your aerial is horizontally polarised (elements going side to side) or vertical (elements going up and down) we may be able to offer some suggestions.

Bernard Coyne: The has been no announcement of a completion date yet for the replacement Bilsdale transmitter mast. Freeview and DAB are still being broadcast from a number of temporary transmitters, including the shorter temporary tower next to the replacement tower.
Arqiva have setup a dedicated website with updates on the replacement mast and information on the help schemes for viewers who have lost reception since the fire (see link below).
