S. Ayres: From entering your postcode into the Freeview detailed coverage checker, it looks like you're in a slightly difficult location for reception. Lark Stoke is not predicted to give you a strong signal (it's 25km away and only has a 1kw output). It sounds like you've picked up the Leamington Spa relay when you retuned, which broadcasts the PSB3 HD multiplex on UHF channel 47, even though reception from Leamington is predicted to be poor at your postcode. The transmitter coming up with the strongest predicted signal is actually Sutton Coldfield (39km away on a compass bearing of 332 degrees) and your aerial would need to be mounted horizontally with the elements going side to side, rather than vertically (elements going up and down) as it would be for Lark Stoke or Leamington.

Paul Cook: There has been engineering work going on at Belmont this week, which will have necessitated running the transmitter at a lower power level and/or broadcasting from a reserve antenna which may have reduced coverage whilst the work is taking place.

Were you given an explanation as to why you have so many filters fitted? 4 in line seems quite unusual and would cause the signal strength to reduce each time it passes though another filter.

Your postcode is not predicted to get a strong signal from any transmitter (Belmont appears to be best of the lot) so it might be worth considering getting Freesat if this is a long running problem.

Latest update from Arqiva on the replacement mast being brought into service (posted as a popup overlay on Bad Request

The new mast at Bilsdale is now nearing completion and we plan to start broadcasting TV services from the mast again within the next few weeks.
Viewers do not need to take any action yet.

When the mast is live, over 99% of households are expected to have their core TV services restored, either automatically or following a retune.

A small number of households, fewer than 0.5% of the total served by the new mast, may not automatically benefit from the signals from the new mast. Arqiva has written to these households - which received in-home support from its TV engineers as part of Project Restore - to advise them they may be affected and what they need to do if they notice a loss of TV services once the mast goes live.

Another small number of households may temporarily lose access to HD services for a few weeks while the additional antenna is installed on the new mast. These channels will still be available in standard definition.

Richard Sutton: Rather than waiting for faster broadband to be available, have you considered getting Freesat? As long as you have a clear view of the sky to the south you should have no problem with reception and it is just a one-off cost for the box and having a dish/cabling installed (there is no ongoing subscription payment) and you get almost all the same channels that are available on Freeview (plus a few others).

Kathy: The latest engineering notice was dated yesterday so it's likely that the work is still ongoing. They never give an end date as it can change if work is disrupted by unfavourable weather or other issues arise.

It's worth checking that you don't have any loose or damaged cables or connections behind your TV, but do not attempt to retune while the work is taking place.

mike Elliott: NHK World is apparently on the Channelbox streaming service on Freeview channel 271 if your TV or box is compatible and connected to the internet.

Latest update from Arqiva:

The new Bilsdale mast is scheduled to begin transmitting TV signals on Monday 22 May.

From early morning on Monday 22 May, most viewers' TVs and set top boxes should automatically receive the new signals from the 300m tall structure.

Any viewers experiencing loss of service after Monday 22 May should first perform a retune/rescan, and if problems persist call the Project Restore Helpline on 0800 121 4828.

A small number of households may temporarily lose HD services for a few weeks until additional antenna are installed, however all HD channels can be watched in Standard Definition in the interim.

alfie: As per my post above yours, CGTN no longer holds a UK broadcasting licence and was removed from Sky/Freesat a couple of years ago. You can still watch via their website or app.

Mel Davies: My5 is Channel 5's catchup/on demand app, it isn't a channel. Whilst the Manhattan SX Freesat box is able to connect to the internet, this appears to only be for downloading software updates rather than for any streaming apps.

ALEC YOUNG: If you're receiving the Bilsdale transmitter then call the Project Restore Helpline on 0800 121 4828 as Chris mentioned in the post above yours.
