You might be able to get some UK channels via satellite but you would need to talk to a local satellite installer in the area you are moving to in order to find out if reception of UK channels via satellite is possible there, what size dish would be required and the costs involved. A quick search found the article at the link below which says that some UK channels are available via one of the Swiss cable TV operators, so that may also be an alternative to explore.

David Rigby: Transmit power has never been reduced on any UK transmitters since digital switchover, except temporarily when necessary for engineering work. You probably have a loose or damaged cable or joint somewhere, or perhaps water has gotten into your aerial system. Start from behind the TV and follow the aerial cable back as far as you are able to safely access. Swap out any jumper leads for a new or known working one. Unscrew any wall plates and check that the cable is securely connected at the back with no loose strands from the outer braid touching the inner connector.

Pete: What make/model TV or set-top box are you using? Some have a function to allow you to delete channels from the program guide.

Antony: There are no plans to add additional multiplexes to any transmitters. The commercial broadcasters were offered the chance to broadcast from further transmitters at digital switchover but declined, probably due to the costs involved not being worthwhile for the increased audience it would allow them to reach.

Andrew: No, there is no subscription charge for Freesat (hence the name) and it has nothing to do with Sky

MikeP: There is no need for 2 aerials as all multiplexes are transmitted horizontally from Rowridge. PSB1-3 and COM4-6 are also transmitted vertically but not COM7&8 or the Solent local mux.

David Moffat: Not by any legal means, BBC iPlayer is only available within the UK. BTW your licence does not cover radio as radio licensing was abolished several decades ago and your TV licence covers you to watch TV at your home address, it does not give you any rights to receive UK channels elsewhere.

Jane poole : TV3 is broadcast from some transmitters in Northern Ireland but not the rest of the UK.

George Lunn: The turbines could be having an effect, particularly if they are directly in line between you and the transmitter. If you provide a postcode we'll be able to see where you are located and which transmitters should be available to you, allowing further advice to be offered.

Tracey Savage: Crystal Palace broadcasts TV to the whole of London and various areas beyond. If there was a problem with the transmitter it would be national news. Are you and your neighbour using a shared communal aerial system such as are often found in blocks of flats? If that is the case you need to ask whoever is responsible for managing your building to get the aerial system checked.
