Frank Healey: Have you checked for any loose or damaged cables or connections behind your TV? Please provide a full postcode so we can see where you are in relation to the transmitter and your predicted coverage.

Chris: Freeview is not avialable via your broadband connection. Some channels can be streamed (i.e. BBC channels can be streamed live via iPlayer) but not all channels offer live streaming or catchup.

Barry Gray: The Sheffield transmitter only reaches some parts of Chesterfield, please provide a full postcode which will allow us to access the coverage prediction for your exact location. Also, how many HD channels do you have on channels 101 and above?

Nick Scott: There is engineering work due to take place over the next couple of weeks at Whitehawk Hill (see link below) however no firm dates are given as the work is weather dependent. Do not attempt to retune as this will cause all of your channels to be deleted. If your signal hasn't returned after a few hours, start checking for loose or damaged cables or connections etc.

bill young, Fiona & Mary: Engineering work usually lasts for a few hours at a time and the transmitter will generally be back on by the evening (the engineers aren't going to be doing planned work on it in the dark). Do not attempt to retune, just wait and your channels will return when the transmitter is switched back on.

Redman: There is currently engineering work taking place at the Whitehawk Hill transmitter. Do not attempt to retune, your channels will return when the transmitter is turned back on.

Neil: Your TV may have attempted an automatic retune whilst the transmitter was off, causing it to loose channels. Check that you don't have any loose or damaged cables or connections behind your TV, then check with a neighbour that their Freeview is working. Then try a manual tune on C60 from the TV's menu, which should restore your BBC channels. If that works, a full retune should restore all of your channels, otherwise further investigation is needed.

Alf Hill: Bike channel went into administration a few weeks ago and has since closed (this isn't the website of Bike or any other broadcaster).

David Davies: True Entertainment is not broadcast from transmitters in Wales. You might be able to receive it from Mendip, if you provide a full postcode we can access the coverage prediction for your location. S4C is only broadcast from transmitters in Wales, it is not broadcast from any transmitters in the West of England. Most of the South Wales coast is well served by the main transmitters at Wenvoe, Kilvey Hill and Preseli, with relay stations providing infill coverage in areas that are unable to receive these transmitters directly.
