The postcode you've now provided is predicted to receive a good signal from the Angus transmitter, which is only 10km away. If there is nothing in the way, a local aerial installer should be able to move/realign your aerial to receive Angus rather than Tay Bridge, which should then enable you to receive all available channels on Freeview.

Roger Dudley: This is an independent technical help website, which is not involved in operating any transmitter or radio station. Your would need to contact Boom Radio via their website https://www.boomradiouk.com/contact/ to ask them if they have any plans to expand their coverage.

Nicholas Anderson: 5 Select is carried on the PSB3 multiplex which is broadcast using DVB-T2 modulation in order to have enough capacity to carry several HD channels. The remaining space not used for HD channels has been sold to other broadcasters, possibly at a lower price (this information will be commercially sensitive so I'm just guessing) than space on the COM multiplexes which are broadcast using DVB-T modulation, which any DTT/Freeview TV/box can receive.
In short, it's probably down to money and available capacity.

Jan Tims: Unfortunately, Arqiva (the company who operate the transmitters) don't give any details of what works are being carried out or when they are due to be completed.

Debbie: Unfortunately, Arqiva (the company who operate the transmitters) don't give details of what type of work they are carrying out or when it is due to be completed (much of it is dependent on the weather as the engineers can't work up the tower in heavy rain or high winds). The tower structure at Pontop Pike is over 70 years old and may well require extensive maintenance to ensure that it remains in a safe condition and is not at risk of fire or collapse.

Dave C: This site has some bugs with the comment system, causing some posts not to appear immediately. I'm assuming Debbie was a previous poster who appeared on a different page. The comment box is supposed to show the name of the most recent poster, presumably to indicate that the comment being written is in reply to theirs.

Barrie Gibson: Arqiva (the company operating the transmitters) don't give any information about their engineering work, so unfortunately nobody is likely to know what sort of work they are carrying out or how long it is expected to last.

Mike Parkins: That's Solent is broadcast on the Southampton local multiplex from Rowridge in horizontal polarisation only on UHF channel 37.

Peter Hayward: We need a full postcode to check, but it sounds like your aerial is pointed at the Lark Stoke transmitter, which is in the opposite direction to Malvern from Pershore. Does the booster box or splitter have power to it? If the splitter is powered, it may be feeding power up the cable to the mast head amplifier (booster box) which won't function without power. Both transmitters carry the exact same lineup of channels, so it may be that Lark Stoke provides a stronger signal at your location, as it has a higher power output than Malvern.

bruce: iPlayer uses your internet connection, it doesn't receive anything over the air from a transmitter. Have you tried any other apps on the box? Have you checked the network settings on your box to make sure that it is still connected to WiFi (or checked the network cable at the back hasn't come loose if the box is connected via ethernet cable). If it still isn't working, please let us know which model of Humax box you have.
