Simon: hmmm.... You did comment that your signals had improved with the removal of the booster. I assume that it's not a masthead amp and if you've just removed the power unit you will be left with a huge attenuator at the mast.
Asd your box is that Sharp one you said doesn't like mixed modes, I'm wondering if it doesn't like the -ve offsets used on C60 and C59 at Oxford.
Try a full reset/clear channels again , but don't do an automatic scan, do a MANUAL tune on the UHF channels in this order C60,C59,C53,C55,C62 all without the booster.
What aerial is it by the way?
If the results are the same, try and borrow a known good box just to check your installation. I still think you may be suffering overload. Have your neighbours had any issues?

Suzanne: Doh & yes it all makes perfect sense, standard technique for checking things. I would not rush to get new cable just yet, do you have a wall socket in the living room and in the bedroom? If so are they the same - exactly - check connections at back of living room one.
How is this "spur" connection in the loft done? Describe as exactly as you can, it may simply be down to that.
......Girly faux pas ......mumble mutter mutter ;)) :))

Harry: Apart from checking for interference as Spartan has suggested, which transmitter are you actually getting your signals from, especially the ITV/4 multiplex? Check which way the aerial is pointing, also how long ago was it put in?
If it's the local Bretch Hill transmitter, then the rods should be vertical and it should be pointing roughly NW.
If it's the main Oxford transmitter, the rods will be horizontal and pointing roughly SSE, and you should also be getting all the other multiplexes OK with channels like ITV3,QVC,5*,5USA,Quest...,PickTV,Dave,Really...,Yesterday,Film4,ITV4 etc.
A quick check that you have programs 10,11,12 will tell you.
If you are not pointing at Oxford, the ITV/4 signal from Bretch Hill to you location is not good and would probably explain your problem.

Robert: Are you getting programmes like ITV3, Dave, Film 4 OK?

Charles: We are going to need a postcode to make any constructive comment.
What sort of aerial have you got? how old is it? Have you got a booster? Did you get all the multiplexes OK pre-DSO?

Andrew: Suzanne has a perfectly good external High gain aerial installed in July. The main problem is that since DSO the signal strength is now so high at her location that it could be swamping the receiver. The latest bit of information may throw some light on what is going on.
If you have too high a signal, the most effective (and cheapest solution) is to remove any boosters and/or use attenuators.

Suzanne: check all connections first. You may have a bad connection to the bedroom, hence a reduced signal not swamping the receivers, or a bad connection to the living room causing insufficient signal on the weaker C59. Could be a dodgy splitter. Swap the two leads at the splitter and see what happens.

Suzanne: Is the splitter in a plastic case or a metal one? If metal (a good quality type), make sure it's the right way round - they provide large attenuation in one direction - between what should be the two outputs.

Suzanne: I can see why you think that's the case, but it's not conclusive I'm afraid. If your idea was backed up by continuity (or lack thereof) tests with a meter - fine. Read my 3.58pm post again carefully and my 4.01pm - it's all worth checking first, then when you tell me I told you so, I won't mind :)).
