Also receiving excellent signal on BBC A in Paddock Wood, Kent from Crystal Palace at 43 kilometers distance and with the signal coming in at nearly 90 degrees off line to the aerial.
The Digital UK coverage predictor shows CP, Tunbridge Wells, Bluebell Hill, Heathfield and Dover as being good reception after DSO, so it's going to be an interesting couple of months with retunes. As removing the masthead amplifier/splitter isn't going to be an option I think I'll need to invest in some attenuators!

Mick/jb38 - Just to confirm what you're seeing & saying, and the digital UK coverage predictor, there does seem to be some issue with coverage of the COM muxes from Hastings in the Eastbourne area.
My parents live at BN21 2SE which is line of sight to the Hasings transmitter, and their digital reception pre-switchover was reasonably good, albeit with a mashead amplifier. Post switchover and with the removal of the masthead amp to avoid overload on the PSB muxes, two of the 3 COM muxes are not present and one is very poor quality. A realignment (and changing to horizontal polarisation) of the aerial towards Heathfield resulted in 4 Heathfield SD muxes coming in at 90%+ signal strength, with one at about 60% as it's not due to be at full power until 27th June. This is even though Heathfield is slightly hidden behind a hill and trees and analogue reception has always been rather poor from that transmitter.
I can't check the HD mux as the TV is not compatible, but have no reason to suspect that it's not equally good.

Hi Jessica
Some possibilities:
1) Are you on a communal aerial system (block of flats or similar)? If so, the distribution system may not have been adjusted for the HD channel. It's actually on Ch 21+, which is slightly offset from the normal frequency.
2) Something in your setup is not allowing the Ch21+ signbal through properly, or it's getting mangled in the link. Try removing any aerial amplifiers, distribution amplifiers, splitters etc and connecting the TV directly to the aerial downlead, then try a retune again.
3) You must make sure that you have done a full "first time installation" when you retune - not just adding channels.
4) Check that you are getting all of the 5 standard definition multiplexes. If not, either you are not using the Rowridge transmitter, or something else is wrong with your aerial setup. Can you confirm that your aerial is pointing to the Rowridge transmitter?
5) It may be worth getting your aerial turned to vertical polarisation, but if you do this before the 18th April then you will most likely lose 3 of your existing Multiplexes, as they don't transmit in VP until then.
