David: Any laptop will work, as long as you are running Windows 7 for the Media Centre interface.
All you need is a "DVB-T" USB device, of which there are many, that is compatible with Windows 7 Media Centre.
And also a suitable aerial, of course.

dee: You just connect the box up, there isn't anything more complicated than attaching the satellite cable to the back of the box.
You only need a card if you want to watch Fiver, Fiver USA and Sky3. All the other channels will work.

Patrick: No "codes" are required, you need a "freesat from Sky" card registered to an address in Northern Ireland or the Republic.
