Mr Singh: Re ITV1 being on BBC TWO analogue channel, see comment to phillip wigley two above.

phillip wigley: You should probably try a variable attenuator. If you have a very large aerial you can easily have a signal that will block the Freeview box from receiving anything at all.

Mr Singh: There were NO CHANGES at the Derby transmitter at this date, as it only currently broadcasts BBC ONE East Midlands and ITV 1 East Midlands.

The Derby transmitter will start the non-HD multiplexes in two weeks, and Freeview HD will start later in the year.

Nick Wilcock: Ofcom are not allowed to dictate what sort of channels get the capacity on Freeview, it is a free market.

It is the 800MHz band that is being used for 4G mobile, this is the 600MHz band.

s mccloskey: I really don't know where you are looking, you can get a signal after switchover from Sutton Coldfield, The Wrekin and Ridge Hill (less well on the COM multiplexes). The only transmitter you can't use is the one close to you at Brierley Hill.

timonthenet: The first thing to suspect is any amplifier, they usually are worse than unnecessary, they just destroy reception by distorting the signal and amplifying the interference over the signal. Long runs of cable should be no problem, but of course it depends on the exact location as to the signal received by the aerial.

Alan Clarke: Are you sure your set is not DVB-S2 (FreeSAT HD) capable, rather than DVB-T2 (FreeVIEW HD)?
