John P: That might be the case if the government has any actual jurisdiction over SES Astra, but as a company based in Luxembourg this cannot be the case.

Indeed, being landlocked, it couldn't even use "gunship diplomacy".

Billy: To be fair to Freeview, they do state on ever single thing they have ever put out

"All channels are subject to coverage and may be changed from time to time. Aerial upgrade may be required."

If you want more channels, then Freesat is a good option - see Compare Freeview Light and Freesat TV | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice .

Si: You will need a new box. Perhaps it is a suitable time to get a Freeview+ recorder, they have excellent TV guides.

Mark: The usual explanation for such a situation is that you have overloaded the device with too much signal. This is usually caused by having an amplifier or booster in the system that is now distorting the much stronger broadcast signals.

The best thing to do if you do have an amplifier or booster is to remove it from your system.

If this is the source of the problem then a Freeview HD box will have exactly the same problem.
