Rob: It could be any number of problems, the most plausible would be the failure of the LNB. There is no particular reason to upgrade the hardware and the channels have not moved. If anything has moved, it could be the dish.

Margaret Goodlad: Freeview is provided though a rooftop aerial in the UK only.

A "old Sky+ box" will show the fSfS channels if you use it. See Compare Freeview and Freesat TV | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice opt=1">Compare Freeview and Freesat-from-Sky TV | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice for details of which channels are on which system.

Sky+ boxes will not record without a subscription, but you can buy Freesat+HD boxes that do record from satellite without a contract - see Compare Freeview and Freesat TV | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice .

janet pass: I would contact the channel directly, or see Consumer rights : Directgov - Government, citizens and rights .

GBH: F plugs are most likely to be Virgin Media connections, or part of a satellite distribution system.

As BT Vision uses Freeview (via a rooftop aerial) your sockets are unlikely to be of any use.
