putting youre post code into this coverage checker gives the channels info (select detailed view) . If you want channels outside your area use a post code nearer the wanted transmitter (theatre ,post office etc )

THe channels are mostly still on the same multiplexes . (with a few exceptions) Usually only the transmission frequencies changed .So you can just look at the relevant freeview transmitter pages. If there are specific channels you are interested in I might be able to find out .

Nick . It seems that a given multiplex carries the same channels for all three transmitters but only Tacolneston carries com7 and 8.

The tv authorities in Britain and the continent are restricted in the available frequencies and power they can use by agreements which have decided to take over the top end of what was the tv bands for new mobile services. British transmitters cant just increase the power to cover all areas because that would interfere with continental and Irish reception . And the foreign tranmitters would have to increase too which in turn would interfere with British reception. The least watched channels (especially HD that takes up more channel room) are the ones that get squeezed into the low power end . On many transmitters such as Sudbury these channels are already not transmitted. And I predict they will go from all transmitters after 2020.

During the current hot spell periods of high pressure are likely to cause reception or interference from distant transmitters . Especially if you are not close to your local transmitter.

Its the hot weather . Especially when there is high pressure over the continent . Don't retune your tv.

Nick . Tacolneston still carries the same multiplexes. though com7 and com 8 are lower power than previously so may not be received in fringe areas.

Paul. It sounds like you maybe have a group CD aerial which were suitable before about 2010 . Since june 16 the Tacolneston channels moved to lower frequencies (I assume you retuned then) requiring ideally a group K or a wideband aerial. If so you maybe able to get help from freeview for a new aerial. It helps us if we know your post code or approximate location and whether aerial is outdoor.

Paul. I assume you retuned your tv after the frequency change of june6th? You are so close to the transmitter even a small indoor aerial should work. Though indoors where the aerial is placed can be quite critical . I don't think interference from other transmitters would be strong enough to cause problems. Outdoor aerials are always preffered (in youre case a short log type should be ideal) . In the loft being a second choice to place it . With such a strong signal an attenuator (signal reduction device) may be needed inline with the cable.
