My aerial is pointed at Birmingham , I do all my own satellite work and get free sat from a sky dish and I provide my wife with Satetellit from Poland perfect. What is the correct bearing for the Northamptonshire transmitter as it is better for me .than a very bad Birmingham transmitter?

Liam: in order to answer the question we need to know where you are, preferably with a postcode or that of a nearby shop, so a check can be made of which transmitters are receivable at your location. Usually, if an aerial in Northamptonshire has been pointed at Sutton Coldfield (Birmingham) it is because the signal from Waltham or Sandy Heath which would normally be used is not particularly good.

Liam: Hi, Liam. From Northampton , the county town, the Sandy Heath transmitter, which is in Bedfordshire is almost due East. Alternatively, the Waltham on The Wolds transmitter, near Melton Mowbray in Leicestershire is almost due North. N.B. These data are from Northampton itself. Modify the data if you are not in the county town! If you wish to use Sandy Heath, you will require a wideband (W)or total band (T) aerial. If you wish to use Waltham, a wideband (W) or total band (T) aerial is required for that too. Suggest you experiment with bearings and test maximum signal with a DTT signal finder, available from aerial accessories suppliers, especially for the task of aligning an aerial to a transmitter. Hope this helps, Richard, Norwich, Wednesday 15th. June, 8 p.m.

    Hi All
ITV3 has moved to another transponder on freesat and may not be picked up by an automatic retune on some boxes. My old humax still had it, but it is missing on the later technisat box I have. Using my unbranded Chinese thingie I finally traced it to astra 10891 H 21999. I don't know where that figures on more modern kit, but on this old thing it shows as channel 0721.
I will have a go at restoring it on the technisat now I know where to look.
    Best wishes to all
    Simon

    Simon Pryce:

As you've put your post on a Freeview page, I've put a link to it at All of the free TV channels on PGSTART1500 in the UK | free and easy as there's often a few posts about satellite over there, and a couple of posters that post there occasionally might be interested or have something they can add.
